Windies 4/39 already.

Outside Lara, and perhaps Chanderpaul, their batting lineup is atrocious, yet they chose to go with only 5 genuine batsmen and 2 keepers.

Weird decision given you have the brilliant Pollock and Ntini (the two best bowlers in the world) coming in at you.

I know they have injuries, but surely they took enough batsmen to cover said injuries.

Ntini is the form bowler of the world right now.

All three of those you mentioned are, or have been, injured lately.

If Akhtar's not a bowler, then Lee isn't.

Akthar bowls with a slingshot action and he's no more of a chucker than Lee.

But your right about Bond and Dizzy bring amongst the best couple.

Phat I've been watching this series and have been impressed remarkably with Ntini's efforts. But calling him one of the two best bowlers in the world is slightly premature. He didn't have a fantastic world cup form memory and he needs to acheive consistency and success away and against the world's best few teams to be considered in that category.

IMO the top 5 fast bowlers in the world in no particular order are.

Shane Bond
Shaoib Akhtar
Jason Gillespie
Shaun Pollock

There the four whom stand out, the fifth spot is debatable as I could see a case for many bowlers. Namely Zaheer and Ntini.

those who don't rate Ntini as one of the best bowlers at the moment are kidding themselves.

At least Lee doesn't blatantly chuck it like Shoaib does, I agree, both chucks, but Shoaib's an even bigger and more obvious chucker than Murali. All three of them should be taken somewhere and fix up their bloody action or be banned.

Bond's the best fast bowler in the world coz he actually bowls the ball, but don't know if all these stress fractures in his back would affect his pace. Gillespie's more consistent than Shoaib.

Ntini's the leading wicket taker this calender year, so that backs up the claims that he's the best in the world. The way he's bowling at the moment he's right up there.

If Pollock wants to be best again, he better put more bloody effort into it and bowl a bit quick, he's no quicker than Steve Waugh

batting abilities aside, i'd pick Ntini before Pollock easily. His fire tonight was exceptional. He got 4 wickets and could have easily had a few more.

....or haven't bothered to watch him play in the last 12 months.

.

Fair point i guess, but there can be no doubting that Ntini is the form bowler of the world.

Anyone that has seen him bowl in the past 6 months would agree, i'm sure.

If you've got Foxtel, check his run-up out tonight.

Never mind his run-up, someone should take him to anger management

"Form Bowler" *depends greatly on whom you are bowling at*

Pollock is the K-MART version Mcgrath....slower, less movement, about the same consistency of line and length.

Ntini is improving all the time but still bowls a fair bit of junk....lets see him against some consistent quality.

Bond is not currently playing...if you ain't going to mention Mcgrath...don't bother with Bond.

yep this is just a complete annihilation.

Herschelle is batting better than i've ever seen him bat.

And the way their scoring, their making the Aussies look like Geoff Boycott.

Gibbs has always been great, just now he looks matured, starting to play more responsibly

Kallis is so slow, mind you, his strike rate is 50, that ain't bad, but Gibbs is making him look like a turtle.

Everytime a non-Australian player is given some credit, this old chestnut is brought up. You can only beat the opponents presented to you.

Very few question Pontings recent brilliant form, yet when it's a foreigner the 'he plays against ordinary teams' line is thrown up.

Yes we're getting pumped.

Hinds needs to learn to use his feet. We're missing Gayle's batting and bowling, although he fails to use his feet aswell when he bats. So those 2 need to improve on that area and they'll be unstoppable. Mind you, Gayle can destroy anyone if he's on song. He could barely walk and he hit 7 4's in 12 balls in the first test. Something like that.

Sarwan, needs to post a big score and post it now. I've been saying that for a while. Although, his scores are alright and he's our second highest run scorer behind Lara this year, so even though he hasn't posted high scores, he's been getting runs. But it's not good enough.

Chanderpaul is getting too old and he is starting to slow down now. He can score runs when needs to, but is mainly inconsistent. He is our third run scorer this year. I don't know how he is, but he's somehow an anchor I guess you could say. So he's used for building runs slowly.

Our bowlers, well that is self explanatory.

This test match is an embarrassment for anyone who supports the West Indies.

Lara needs another 130 odd runs to pass Ponting now. With us being 266 down and Lara scoring a double century in the first test match and a 72 in the first innings in this test match, we can still manage a draw. The win is impossible unless we get another 6 wickets and keep South Africa to a lead of no more than 300.

I'm predicting that this could end up like the 3rd test match India V Australia last time Australia played in India when Dravid and Laxman formed that huge partnership. Was it the third test? Back in 2001.

We're another 2 years off yet of being a very good team. We've got the youth and talent, we just need to develop it and it will take some time.

I just hope we don't lose this test match, but if we draw it from here, the last 2 tests look promising with hopefully Gayle back from injury.

i just wanna know why every time i watch cricket in South Africa there are so many good looking birds walking around in bikinis??

and further more, why does this not occur in the land of oz??

The ladies in Aus have something more entertaining than watching cricket for a whole day.

But yeah, babes in bikinis in a pool......

One dayers are normaly even better:)

Good thing though...the match is a one way snooze fest:rolleyes: camera men seem to think so anyhow:D

How greedy were South Africa?

Surely they could have declared an hour earlier to give themselves an extra 10-15 overs at the Windies.

God i hope the Windies can bat the final day out.
