Four players due to return and they all suffer reoccurrence during the bye. I mean I can’t remember ever seeing this happen anywhere in any sport I’ve followed

As much as people want to blame our people / facilities, who knows. This guy is a beanpole in the Gumbleton mode who has been permanently injured since he arrived. He might well be just one of those guys. It sucks but sometimes it’s the case.
We have a lot of those guys. Mostly on long term contracts as well.

It can't be luck, it's mismanagement somewhere
Or Reid is a prime example of the danger of drafting a 200cm 84kg players and having to add 15kg to his frame in a short period of time while continuing to keep his running up to have the fitness level required. I actually think they did him no favours by pushing him early. My view is he is a prime example of a guy who should have had more a Hayes build up and played a couple of seasons of VFL. It is why I have never hung my hat on the Reid rack. Not saying he can not shake the injuries and he can certainly play but the odds are very much against him.

If youre constantly getting reinjured in rehab, it’s the program. They either haven’t rehabbed the injury properly, progressed that player to quickly or are putting them through training that they shouldn’t be. The amount of cases we’ve had of players reaggravating their injury just as they close in on a return to play over the past 2 seasons has been ridiculous, and it hasn’t just been those 4
So the experts in Qatar that set his training program this time around are simply incompetent's as well ?
The fact we have sent these guys to different people outside the club would suggest it is not simply the rehab program.

Latest report in the Sun says the club is adamant the scans are just precautionary.
As much as I dont trust our management of injuries I also think its becoming a bit of a meme for Journos to tweet about every single incident that happens on the training track for us, so im just gonna wait till they the scan done.

They didn’t set his training program this time around? They found out one of his hamstrings were shorter so they gave him a program to help equalize

They set his program based around what they learnt. Is was about the screening and also the strength work and a program going forward. It was about getting a sustainable program for him. The fact they found an abnormality suggests he was always going to be pushing an uphill wheel. Of course they followed what they found. That is why he went. They looked outside the program.

Agree.
Very simplistic to blame the rehab program. I would imagine that most strength and conditioning programs across the AFL clubs are pretty much the same. You find that a lot of the people involved move from club to club. It would astound me if we were doing anything markedly different to anyone else.

Other clubs use the Qatar program as well - amongst other overseas programs.

When has a precautionary scan come back with anything other than bad news?

Just to correct this as it's been posted a bit,
It was found to be smaller and weaker not a shorter hamstring.

The annoying part is I don't believe if you are running a well resourced and elite department that you should need to go to qatar to figure that out.

I find myself in complete and unequivocal concurrence with the sentiment expressed, to such an extent that it is virtually impossible to conceive of a more profound alignment of perspectives.
mate just give it a like next time
