1 game for essentially pick 2? Hope he shows something in 26.

Imagine if tiges pick up a key tall with our pick. That would be some really tangible shit right there.
There aren't any quality talls in this years top 20 apparently

Daniel, Whitlock and second rounder vs pick 2 this year and pick 25 last year

Lets argue Whitlock went close enough to pick 25 (got pushed out) so cancel each other out

Daniel and a second rounder vs pick 2

Someone needs to be fired

My head canon will forever be that pick 25 netted us Whitlock and we spent pick 2 on getting Caleb Daniel.

Matlock is in no way deserving of the bags associated for the reaming we got at the trade table for Daniel.

It'd only be ruck/fwd Cooper Duff-Tytler at 2/3, which I don't think is a need for us with Goad developing.
Otherwise utility Willem Duursma, wing/hbf Josh Lindsay or midfielders like Sharp/Cumming/Grlj/Grieves are more likely selections for Tigers with our pick if they don't go with Duff-Tytler.
Key forward Schubert will go a bit later in the top 10 or just outside it.

It's unfortunate that he's tied to future first deal and the pressure that puts on him.
Because he's had a very solid first year for a skinny tall, generally uses the ball well and showed something at both ends.
COS played 1 game in his first year I think. I'm sure Whitters will gradually get more AFL games next year.
Right now there's other players like Will Dawson or Trembath with the bigger bodies to compete at this stage.
And throwing him into a backline that's not stable and settled would be throwing him in the deep end.
Perhaps as the 3rd tall up forward, that might take a bit of pressure off him as he finds his feet.

I never expected him to debut this year, and to be honest he probably shouldn't have. Looked a bit lost and very much outsized.
But he's had a perfectly acceptable year at VFL level, and shown he has skill and versatility.

Whether we can develop him (and any of our other kids) properly, is another question.
Not a bad idea to trial him as a third tall forward to ease him in to the 1's. Either he shoots the lights and stays up there or he eventually moves back as the interceptor or second tall kpd.

Agree. Played too early, even though he had a good VFL game. Had a good year in the VFL.
You want him to be set up for success, either end of the ground. The backline is not exactly settled and stable.
But the coaches will figure that out I guess. Just hope fans give him the time to develop.

Unfortunate there's such hysteria about it. He could take the mindset that we rated his talent so highly that he was worth a top 10 - could build confidence. Never know.

Agree with all comments here. Has been very good for a first year KPP at both ends. Had a lull mid season but sounds like due to injury. I think he spent a fair bit of time on the bench last VFL game with a niggle, so maybe just an acknowledgement via emergency for him.

These first 40 pages have so much potential for the future

Go you good thing

I think you are asking a bit much some of some our fans there.

That he will get a game forward where he will be alongside Trembath and Payne who he has played games with will be beneficial.

Much better than the fish out of water experiment from earlier in the year.

What will be beneficial is if he kicks 3 goals against Richmond of all teams, just to make the offseason a little easier to bear and the draft night as well...
