Stats inflated his game tonight.

21 possessions (@71%) but had little to no impact on the game itself as a midfielder/defender.

Showed glimpses as that midfielder that slides through congestion but far to often sold his team mates into trouble with a handball back into traffic.

Minor things that can be ironed out but definitely impressing me more and more in a more midfield orientated role.

I thought early his possessions had some impact but seemed to drift out a bit in the second half. Still think it's overall a good step to see him getting 20+ touches - earlier games it seemed like he wasn't able to find the pill.

Got plenty of the ball last night, but alongside Bird he's the softest player in the team. Little desperation and plenty of half-hearted efforts. Gleeson goes in harder FFS. I am convinced this is a confidence thing.

He also needs to realise he doesn't have as much time as he thinks and can get himself into trouble Regardless, I am glad he's getting game time.

Bird is a pornstar, a communist, a dirtbag, slow, cannot do anything with the ball once it is in his hand but if there is one thing he isn't it's "soft".

Yeah I'll give Bird the benefit of the doubt however I saw him squib a contest a couple of weeks ago and I lost my mind at him. He's an experienced player and as such needs to show more to kids like Langford.

Was just about to say this. Bird is far from soft, always goes in at the contest with little regard to his safety, dude constantly gets beat up.

Kyle has that laconic run that makes it look like he's not trying and not putting in.

Not the hardest bloke, but he did put his body in at times yesterday to win the ball.

Also, Bird is most definitely not soft and is a pornstar

Might just be me but sometimes he looks like he has no desperation to win the ball. Dont know if its just because he shows no expression or something else

Wasnt a great game but I still thought he showed signs as an inside mid tonight. Keep him in for the rest of the year

Not too sure he is an inside mid for me. I would play him outside. He really likes to skirt the packs a lot, and sometimes looks to be a little afraid of the bump.

Looks much better playing forward and leading at the ball than playing in defence and trying to chop off the incoming high balls

He is the opposite of most players in the sense that he seems to try and do too much when he has the ball in his hands.

Gets himself clear and then ignores the first option to try and do more with the ball which sells himself into trouble too often.

Also doesn't run forward when in clear space as he wants to duck back into the field of play - Put on the jets when you are clear.

The David Rys-Jones laconic stride.

Nothing wrong with that.

Huge worry for me. Ball watches and very slow of mind. Lacks awareness.

Don't mind him spending lots of minutes on ball to try and improve but that type of issue is part of your dna.

We need to find him a position next year and settle him down.

I cannot for the life of me understand how Langford could be a 'huge worry' based on what we've seen so far (which has been very encouraging) and the fact that he's still, y'know, 19.

Baffling.
