I'm wondering how often he marked the ball coming out of defence, because it's been missing a lot this year. Lore I know that heat maps are able to show where you get the possessions, but do they also show where you mark the ball?
Heat maps are hard to get and a bit simplistic, but you can get more stats plotted on a map from the AR thing. It doesn't have marks, but it has disposals, kicks, kick ins, inside 50s and goals.

I am going to assume that when he kicked it, it was either from a mark or an uncontested possession that gave him enough time to kick it. His handballs tend to be short and likely contested in close, though you can't see that on the map. The other option is to watch the extended highlights and plot it out yourself, as far as I know nothing else is available to us plebs even if we were willing to pay for it.

Langford had two hamstring issues last year, and missed rounds 18-19 and 21-EF with that. So the two most recent games to look at are round 17 against Adelaide and round 20 against the Swans.

And based on those two games and those assumptions, he does have quite a few kicks that originate between 40 metres from the opposition goal and the mid-point of the wing, and most often go to a teammate 30+ metres further up the ground.

All the stars (in a bad way) have aligned i feel

Snelling, Langford, Stringer, H.Jones, Tipungwuti is a fairly significant group, even more so as alot are fwds. Couple that with we wernt as good as we thought we were last year due to a soft draw and the players not giving effort, then you get the results of what were currently getting.

The biggest issue is the last though.

...not to mention how often he marks/spoils/contests the ball coming out of our attack (transition defense).

The problems are clearly far more than Langford and Snelling but they both do fulfill areas that we seriously lack.

Smh he’s a restricted free agent. They get longer deals than uncontracted players
If we offer 2-3 years he likely leaves
The amount of dumb comments on the Facebook page is bemusing.
With tippa gone, this guy is our best kick.
Not to mention is a good grab, can play forward, wing and mid in a pinch, isnt sub 183cm and also likes to spend his recovery time with the coaches and on the bench encouraging the new kids.

Not sure what ppl want from him

To be a Judd/Ablett/Goodes hybrid

Four years seems like a lot with his injury history.

In saying that we've really missed him this year. Good overheard mark and an accurate kick for goal. Has done some nice run-with jobs recently too if I'm not mistaken.

Apart from the hammy this year he hasn't had that many injuries I think.

Missed 6 games last year with a couple of hammies? (Lore?)
Missed 1 the year before
Think he got dropped once the year before, but played most games
One? Injury in 2018
Mostly played VFL in his first 3 years
