Wonder how good Laverde is with all the hype being around him. But this kid is really smart, just like Zerret last year. I agree with the comparison to Gunston.

Langford looks a better option than Ambrose for mine. Quicker, reads the play better and has better skills and penetration/depth with his kicking.

One of Langford's strengths is he has a safe pair of hands when marking the ball.

It's one advantage he has over Ambrose.

His kicking seems pretty bloody good, that snap last week to Edwards and the one which Zaharakis dropped last night, pure class.

Pretty sure there's room for both of them in the forward line down the track. 190cm running machine that is also a beast can fit alongside a 190cm quick smooth moving player with skill and will be our hit up mark. Especially when we have two 200cm KPFs. I'd even slip a 189cm explosive mid who can take a hanger alongside them, Laverde.

Atm yes. However I'd be disappointed if Langford ends up as just a third tall. I see know reason he doesn't end up a midfielder/utility.

Agreed, best teams have the best forward lines. Easier to find a gun mid than a gun forward these days.

You make a good point however with Langford's kicking ability I see it as more advantageous for him to be playing up the ground where he can deliver the ball to Ambrose/Edwards who can play the Gunston role.

I know its a bit early to tell but Langford seems quite good a great pick by the looks. Hopefully another good game and he'll get a shot for round 1. Would be good to see.

Want to look at laverde - Eveything I've seen at junior level shows they are good kicks - Hope Laverde can transfer this to AFL level.
