is it just me or does he move a bit like dylan grimes, especially when marking?

massive competition for both kpd roles and midfield.

Will likely play a max 5 key position players + one chopout ruck/key position.

Lynch, Balta, Grimes, Gibcus all a lock for mine.

Leaves 2 spots for riewoldt, miller, tarrant, young (turns 25 next year and built like a brick shithouse).

If Tarrant plays, and based on late year form, i think he might, that leaves no room for balta down back. He must go forward.

The final spot goes to Miller but only if he plays well in the ruck and only till sampson ryan comes on. Riewoldt to play as vfl back up.

That leaves young as the one to earn his spot.

Open to riewoldt forcing his way back in but must do it through the vfl.

Confident balta can kick 35 goals which is where riewoldt will be roundabouts this year, plus provide much better pressure and can also chop out ruck.

Im for Balta forward, but only if riewoldt is not there. Don't like balta in the ruck and don't like riewoldt balta and lynch in the same forward line.

Then we have the midfield.
3 onballers
2 bench spots
and perhaps 1 extra resting forward in the 6th forward position (less MRJ/Judson, Cumbo, Bolton, Balta, Lynch.)

Prestia, Hopper start on ball.

3rd mid to be a rotation of Taranto, Martin and Bolton.

That Leaves two spots remaining.
Likely will be Cotchin and Sonsie

This means short gets pushed back to the final bench spot (a ruck in the 4th bench position)

This creates an awkward tussle for bench spots between baker, graham, broad.

Here is where the tactical sub comes to mind. I think we have a rotation playing half a game each going with the final mid spot (with cotchin, sonsie, graham, baker and maybe even a dow or ross if injuries occur). So you'd have cotchin/graham for example half a game each. Then the next week Sonsie/baker). Also allows martin, prestia, hopper, taranto to play a half game when needed. But basically you'd have a rotation of mids and injurier will come too. But i dont see how short, baker, graham all are best 22 next year. The numbers dont add up.

First free spot due to injury goes to Graham.

The highlights posted on our website don’t fill me with much hope. Hope I’m wrong though
You don’t like towering one grab contested overhead marks , perhaps sub for a few fumbling chest marks instead . I dont see him as a triple Coleman medalist however I wouldn’t rule out a role for him

The problem with relying on highlights to judge a player is it only shows the good moments. The value of one players highlights against another will often only serve to highlight who had better moments; not who is the better player or what traits they consistently bring to the table.

Having watched most VFL games last season, I thought he was more than a solid contributor as a lockdown KPD and was probably our best VFL listed player.

I suspect that if Bauer hadn’t fallen to us in the MSD last season, Young would have been the pick.

Whats Tylar's speed and athleticism like , I see him as the tarrant replacement with Balta , Gibcus , Miller the players that will get the freedom to roam and swing foward
