If we didn't have to carry Powell or Simpkin (who are both unplayable in the back six) then we could conceivably move Caleb Daniel to a HFF type role where I think he could potentially contribute quite well.

Alas...

Imagine the ease teams would run it off half back. Well worth the 1-2 kicks Daniel actually hits.

Plays every week of the season over Cooper for me.
He'd be a better ruck than most toddlers too.

Most teams play three running defenders, Caleb can neither run nor defend. Why are we still persisting with this? We can talk about lack of options, but that doesn't make him one. He simply doesn't have the tools to do the job.

No, I'm saying your argument is a nonsense. We have seen enough to know that he just isn't an option back there.
Ok, but we have seen enough of Harvey to know he’s less of an option.

Short of Goater becoming reliable, or taking FOS out of the midfield, there aren’t other options.

It’s a list problem more than a selection problem.

Take FOS out of the midfield, leave him in the hybrid half back role. It's not like the forwards are gonna lead at him if he wins it out of the middle anyway

Yep.

Pretty sure that is exactly where he will be once we hit the real stuff outside of the odd bit. We just have a hole down back that needs 2-3 extra changes to work.

It's both, and CD should not be picked ahead of Harvey. Harvey at least has the out of being in a new spot. The game is well and truly beyond anything that CD can bring.

I understand your point, but that doesn't make Daniel a viable option. We simply have to abandon the experiment. He got found out at the dogs, so they bailed. We should never have gone there and have persisted far too long. It's torture.

Clarko won’t accept that he was wrong and it’s ****ing us

I've said ever since he arrived that I'd like to see him play HHF in that RHJ / Sleevo role. I still reckon he'd be good at it.

Agree that it would be better to have Kerch and Hardeman as the main playmakers from the backline.

Problem is, Kerch isn't available this week, and aside from a dude who may or may not get an SSP spot, there weren't any other alternatives today, and there won't be next week either.

How did the club not see that the game had passed him by in his last year at the dogs?

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall with the internal discussions on his recruitment. Was everyone on board? Did everyone think it was a good idea or did Clarko just make a captains call?

Seems we're doubling down to avoid looking like knobs for the price we paid.

Desperate decision and trade to try and get a name to the club.

And paid overs so now need to justify the call.

It’s just horrible management any way you look at it.

And also picked Fisher

It’s so incompetent on many levels.

1. The pick given up #25
2. The cost per year out of our Cap.
3. The length of the contract - 4 years. 3 more years of a declining list clogger.
4. His best days well and truely behind him. He was used as sub so many times in that last season at the Dogs. If that is not a sign he was on the decline, then you are just plain dumb.
5. The morale of his playing group, especially down back every time he stinks it up as the opposition offence hitches a ride on the Daniel Express into their forward line.

It is little wonder we remain welded to the bottom 4 with list decisions like this. No one prepared to challenge a pig headed Clarko going after him in the first place, and then continuing to pick him each week. You reap what you sow.
