Bro.

Waite was a free agent 12 years ago.

Jacobs was drafted by us 14 years ago.

Nathan Thompson was a trade 22 years ago.

Higgins was a free agent 12 years ago.

Not meaning to be dickish but literally none of them were trades in the last 10 years ago.
"I get that they were 12ish but close enough. Darling and Parker aren't losses"

I was trying to be civil lol

You are preaching to the converted, my son.

Pound for pound, I like Parker. As long as we play him out of the centre square.

Hes a f ken pro however his best footy is behind him. Probly play him as a fwd...

Yeh anyone who criticises our trading is immediately ridiculed and branded negative.

Even though you'd struggle to name 1 genuine trade win in the last 10 years.

Just 1.

CCJ got us P Curtis, we will be forever in CCJs debt. I mean had we just swapped the picks without CCJ being involved it would have been a better trade of course 😵‍💫

Nah I'd welcome one.

Just one "yes North clearly won that trade" in the last 10 years.

I really like Parker and Darling but those are elder statesmen their clubs were happy to clear.
Unironically, I'd say the podium for our best trades in the past decade would be:
  • Dylan Stephens for the equivalent of pick 46
  • Aaron Hall for pick 68
  • Jack Darling for pick 67

Dark times, dark times...

How does Daniel for 25 not make this list….

Oh, you said best.

Never mind.

I'd say that salvaging something out of the JHF debacle was our best trade of the period. But I'm still not sure whether or not we broke even in that one.

With trading players in we have been unbelievably bad.

I know man.

I couldn't watch after 1/2 time. I knew it was coming prior to the game, tried to tell myself it wasn't Clarko's fault, but he picked that terrible team.

It was the footy equivalent of going all-in when you're drawing dead. We didn't give ourselves any possible (outs) excuses... no kid excuses, no nothing. Sure we have excuses, but not many left that are actually palatable.

When will this ****ing nightmare end? It's payback for making prelims or better every one of my teenage years. I know it.

Come on North get your shit together; no more rainbow and lollipop bullshit. They are officially out of credits (from the 90s) with me.

I second that Chip Scab

Can someone enlighten me as to why this guy gets a game each week? He is an absolute momentum killer. His disposal is rubbish most of the time. Hes far too small to play the modern game and because he's so small hes too slow aswell.

The period in the 3rd where we kicked a few goals in a row i am confident he was riding the pine. We actually look a better side without him in it.

Clarko at this point has to be considered insane for continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result.

I know he's used for 'experience' but I'm shocked to see Clarko using him as an onfield coach and sounding board.

Guys like Darling and Parker read the game a lot better.

It is what it is. Can't see him being dropped and can't see them changing his role.
He’s selected because we traded pick 25.

Nothing more.

Just caught up on the score now. Did not have high hopes for us going into this praccy game, but here we are.

Looks like CD turned in another stinker of a performance.

Come on down Tom Blamires, I presume he had a decent game?

He (Blamieres) did not look out of place at all and you can lock him for the opening round. Daniel was somewhere between stale milk and 3 day old prawns on the stench scale if that helps.

My God would we look so much better without this plonker. Blamires and Hardeman as rebounders, with FOS and Goater's corpse having stints, just makes all the sense in the world.

So obviously we'll shy away from that revolutionary idea and keep him in the team until the heat death of the universe

Agree. For this reason I would like to see Parker used in Daniel's role in defence.

Parker has leadership and will take accountability as a player for his f*(k ups. Daniel won't. That the difference.

You can use Daniel as a player/coach in the VFL. AFL is an unforgiving environment. You start treating it like VFL where you have a player coach on the field, then you're asking for trouble.

Also, when you have Logue and Comben (leadership group), they should be used as a sounding board. Part of the reason why you are selected by coaches and your peers into the leadership group.

I think in the 3rd quarter, Clarko and Caleb were on the bench in deep conversation. **** I hated seeing that.

Do you think Clarko is trying to vicariously relive his playing days through Caleb? He’s picked a player of similar stature and footy traits and is now trying to prove how good he could have been with the right coach at the helm? Like the mother of all ego trips.

It’s crazy because you don’t usually see it so clearly, but today showed that the modern game has well and truly passed him by.

Playing him in the AFL is basically negligent.

He’s done. Pick 25 or not.

Yep. He can’t defend. He can’t break the lines. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. It’s one of the most moronic trades our club has ever partaken in. What does he have left on his contract? 3 years. In all seriousness… :stern look

Daniel might be extremely limited as a footballer right now but he’s always had a good read on the game.
