Could happily trade Jack graham and have Ross play his role and wouldn’t lose anything.

His first half Saturday night was very good with a solid second half. Really happy to see him turn it all around. He’s been a slow maturer , but we’re starting to get the fruits from his hard labour. He definitely knows he belongs in the side at AFL level and he’s just growing by the weeks. I was pissed off when he was dropped earlier in the year, but he went back to the vfl and didn’t get down on it and had a big game. I think he could become a high B grader and possibly higher as already mentioned by others he’s only 21 and playing in a tough role against some mature men.

Spending a lot of time at half forward between midfield stints so not his natural position but seems to read the play well and gets into good positions. He still seems a bit outside when in the midfield and think he needs to up his aggression a bit. He has the size and strength, sometimes stands back when he could attack, maybe that will come with a bit more continuity, he has been here there and everywhere in his career so far. Needs to try and emulate Prestia a bit more, they could be similar in some ways.

I think Jack Ross is the epitome of the ‘development dilemma’.

Year one with injuries came his chance and he looked the goods as an inside mid.

Year 2 and 3, Match Committee would have wanted to play him more, but to have more opportunities to play on the senior squad, had to be moved to a wing and half-back; basically two areas that didn’t highlight his strengths and he went backwards.

Year 4 - still not 100% full time inside mid, but looks to be getting back to that level we thought he could be in year 1.

The ‘development dilemma’ is trying to work out for a young player, is the best thing for their development playing their best position for a few years in the 2’s, or play in a different position in the 1’s?

Unfortunately for Rossy, get the feeling that option two was to his detriment.

I still am not sure on Ross.

I hope he develops more. I am on the dubious side but I hope I am wrong.

I think RCD has more upside but they are not competing for the same spot because I see RCD far more versatile being able to play in other positions whereas Ross, to me, is primarily inside.

Having said that I hope Ross improves and really Aarts, Martyn etc... need to be moved on.

Rather Ross from a value perspective than Hopper, thats for sure

Just met this bloke, top guy very nice. I asked if he was playing this weekend said he wasn’t sure lol
Met him at the sponsor dinner a few weeks ago, absolute ripper

Big unit as well, didn’t realise how big he was until I met him

Jack Ross having a sensational game
3/4 time has had 17 touches and going at 100%

Really starting to feel at home at the level

Thinking all the way back to watching him in the very first intra club at the start of this year to what he showing now is exactly what I was hoping he’d develop into.

He is showing a fantastic composure with footy in hand.

He fast becoming a really solid decision maker and also is covering the ground really well.
Might be time to play him more game time through the middle.

Credit where it’s due. He’s lifted his game to another level.
Personally, I didn’t think it would come, but great to be proven wrong.
I hope he gets chance in finals and takes it.

Haven’t been a huge fan but he’s got to stay in the team now. Has fixed his disposal and playing good footy. Was unlucky to be dropped last week

Quite clearly should have not have been dropped last week but done more than enough to be picked in week one and beyond. Would be silly not too … but love what he brings. No substitute for hard working ball winners
