o
Ross and kmac sat out the VFL Grand final expecting to play instead of Graham.
Pickett had a blinder and the rest is history.

Good point actually. I think Ross will have lost no admirers at the club over the way he dealt with what must have been a gutting experience on a certain level.

Ross will be fine. Half expect him to be sub tonight and he will be back in the team soon enough. KMac, Pickett, Short, D Rioli, Bolton, B Ellis, Broad, Pickett, are just a few I can think of who did time out of the AFL team at a similar age or older than what Ross is now. He would know as all these players would, that is goes with the territory unless you are an established star with a position and role totally nailed down. I would also expect if we lose tonight or maybe one more loss after that, we might start to see selection skewed a little more towards the younger players like Ross.

Difference is Ross has been in and out of the side since his first year, the others might have gone down for a game of two or a bit longer but since are never dropped. Barely a poster on this board who says his form deserved dropping, so he is unlucky.

Ross played his first AFL final last year and I think this season Ross has had the most consecutive games. He's building well

Not necessarily unlucky. If they are looking to increase pressure and he wasn't supplying much of the right type of pressure then he is leaving himself open to being dropped for a better pressure player. Swans have very damaging kicks lurking around their wings, Campbell, Gulden, McInerney, so the coaches might want them kept under pressure.

Haven’t seen him in the VFL so you’d have to assume he’s sub
No Clarke in the vfl either so definitely looks like sub for either of the two

Hopefully Ross for this game feel like he might offer a little more versatility if he needs to be called in

Although Clarke probably has a little bit more X factor to impact later in a game

Clean ball use and hits the scoreboard I can’t understand why he’d be the sub (or dropped) again moving forward unless he’s a bit sore

Showed the other boys how to respond to being dropped
Came in and took his chances

Made of the right stuff and doubt we see him dropped again for the season

It was an appauling decision to drop him from the starting 22 and he stuck it up the match committee.

He is firmly in our best team currently, and he should be selected at a minimum before any of Pickett, McIntosh, Graham who all seem to be untouchables at match committee.

A Modified Brad Sewell :thumbsu:
