He didn’t and whilst he’s starting to wear thin on many, I think given some of other players who’ve been given plenty of chances, that I wouldn’t be upset if he got a 3-4 game stretch.

About one month before the season started I was rating us a 7-10 finish range. I now concede I was way out, too optimistic on the back of the recruiting season.

Our team at the moment is not approaching every game as if they think they can win it. That is what it looks like to me.

Looking at the fixture, on exposed form, we are only going to win another 3 to 6 games for the season. Just the games when the team has its confidence up.

Daniel
Dale

All came to the club since Macca departed

It would be good to track missed tackle stats like rugby. They really destroy the team defence set up.

We looked really small again last night, but tackling is mostly intent.

Lipa is a younger then the others so I grant him a little more concession then the others but I do agree . We desperately need some stronger bodied players in the team. We don’t have them though . Biggs being dropped at time where we played one of our youngest teams in the last decade is a statement by the selection team.

Agree about the coaching,mshould be a whole post in itself, but I believe we are being over coached.

All those genius line coaches devising plans like

-having 3 forwards at the centre bounce ( what's the point of winning the centre when you do this)

- defending so shallow that every mistake results in an opposition goal (you don't even need to have effective key forwards to beat us ATM).

- Allowing opposition rucks to fist the ball out of defence with no opposition at forward ball- ups.

- Playing possession but doing it so slowly that it seems we have to wait for the opposition to set up. Then they can sweat on the centring kick. It's ok to play the Hawks posessions game but you have to move it on quickly. Watch how Mitchell, Burgoyne, Gibson did it. Receive/ step and kick all in one motion.

Look at how we scored out goals most were kicks to one on one forwards,two from Boyds opponent panicking against high balls- hardly a result of our genius coaching.

Was really interesting hear Saints coach say that this he actually asked the players what they wanted ( having stay at home forwards was one of them- what a concept) this week. They just said they wanted to be left alone to play and react to the situation.

All these strategies, plans, team rules etc... Filling our players heads with bs... I thought we stopped doing all that when McCartney left.

Wouldn't say he killed it, mostly played forward (3 hitouts) and his opponent panicked a couple of times and grabbed the jumper. Obviously it was a tough night for our forwards and we look forward to seeing what Boyd can do in the next few weeks in more favourable conditions.

Yeah OK I may have gone early on Lipinski but there was one effort that just disturbed me. When Mundy kicked his first goal Lipinski literally just stuck an arm out and it was brushed aside like A DAMP PIECE OF LETTUCE.

Dale Morris would be turning in his grave (if he was dead).

I thought the same thing at first from the initial live broadcast angle, it looked like Mundy just walked past him a foot away, and was annoyed at Lipinski for what looked like a soft attempt at a tackle
But when they showed the replay, from behind the goal, Mundy was almost a meter wide from Lipinski, hence the arm reach grab attempt, Lipinski wasn't close enough to initiate a full body contact tackle, I changed my opinion after that

Yeah I have felt we are too tall and too small, we need more player in between size wise. Especially in the midfield because the depth is not there as much as people think. We badly need to find our own Nat Fyfe/Dusty martin type player in the middle. Our midfield, is undersized, lacks a bit of pace and class
