He said that there is "talk" of Suma thinking of a move to a senior coaching role soon".

Cuzzy brushed it off as he should have but meh?

It appeared very subterfuge but I am intrigued

Not saying that it should or shouldn't happen Sabre but more the fact that it did sound like there were things happening that not many knew about.

Nah don't think so. I think its just a former West Coast boy blowing smoke up anothers arse.

Now there's someone who would be capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff particularly in relation to hardness and commitment. Probably too tough for Fremantle though!

It's hardly news. Sumich has been chasing a senior job for some time, and interviewed for the Hawthorn job if I recall correctly (although I'm sure there will be plenty to correct me if I'm wrong).

For what it's worth, I think it's time for Freo to hunt down a big name coach. Kind of like what the Socceroos did by getting Guus Hiddink. The question is, can they get one in the near future?

No, you're not interested in Sumich. Fremantle probably is. I guarantee that as one of the higher rated assistants going around, he will be on Fremantle's radar if Connolly is sacked. As will Harvey, O'Donnell, Longmire et al.

This is the main problem for the club; there are no standout potential coaches to choose from. The club knows a lot about Sumich (as he coached S Freo) and Harvey. The other assistants have no guarentees about them, and Drum was a highly regarded assistant. Of the former coaches available, most are passed their useby date (Blight, Alves etc), or ordinary (Ayers).

Two blokes Freo would go worse under than now ... Sumich (no brains, coaches an inept forward line) and Hardie. Don't let them near the club for godsake.

iscah sumich is the midfield coach, and by the looks of it a bloody good one... i agree that he isnt the right choice, but get your hand off it, if you think laidley is my god... i cant stand his zoneing (spl) game plan, and lets face it the guy has the personality of a wet mop.... he might be able to inspire the playing group but they dont just need that they need a simple bloody game plan that they can follow..
