No Peter Landy! Was he still there for the 2000 games. He will be missed commentating the canoeing etc.

They should give Grant Denyer a few more. I like his work. And why Simon Reeve, he reads news, boring.......... I suppose his commentating the boring sports.

Why Alisa Camplin? How will a Ski Jumper provide insight into the Diving and gymnastics?

A lot of the Aerial skiers have done or have a good understanding of gymnastics. When you think about that is what their sport is - gymnastics on skis.

Correct. The ex-gymnast from Geelong who was at the last Olympics [or was it Commonwealth games ?],Trudy [forgot the surname] has taken up Aerial skiing because its similar to gymnastics.

What about SBS aren't they covering some events? I'm pretty sure they are at least doing the men's road race for cycling.
Seven produce all the coverage and give some of it to SBS to show. Don't know much about their level of coverage yet.

As for table tennis, that's the only sport that they don't say they'll cover. The others not on the list they mention but don't give commentators.

Simon Hill is the SBS soccer commentator so I presume they are doing the soccer - thank God, it's about the only thing I'll be watching.
They'll do most of it. Seven are showing the first two days Thursday in primetime and they will probably keep the other Australia games. SBS are also showing softball and the road race (all the stuff that takes forever)

7's Olympic coverage once again will be a joke with 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there and if no Aussie in it, no coverage

All the commentators bar Bruce (who has it written in his contract he must be on site) will be calling the events off the TV sitting in 7's Docklands Studios in Melbourne!

If you want to follow the actual sport - ABC Radio
If you want chopped up delayed highlights and puff pieces about 'Aussie battlers' - Seven
