Toast 9-2.

Pretty simply a massive toast to the whole football club for getting to the bye with nine wins, and only the two losses, despite the mounting injury toll and the form troubles that some are having.

Great effort.:thumbsu::D

Just posted this on the matchday thread, it's applicable here too..

Our list turnover since 2010, hell even since last year, has been enormous. Obviously a lot of this has been injury induced.

Instead of Pendlebury, Ball, Shaw, Reid, Krakouer, Macaffer, L. Davis, L.Brown and Toovey (must be at least five All-Australians in that list) we have Elliott, Williams, Young, Ugle, Sinclair, Fasolo, Seedsman and Buckley running about (not all of them today, but most).

Out of that group, Fasolo (a 3rd round pick) and Elliott (part of the Clarke trade) were the highest 'rated' players in terms of draft investment. There's going to be ups and downs.

Look at how our motley assortment of 3rd-4th-5th round draftees, rookies and recycled talent is holding up in keeping the seat warm for when (if?) our stars get back.

To gain some perspective, have a look at life from a Melbourne or Gold Coast supporter's point of view. First round picks galore, and yet they're each going backwards.

We were so-so today, but it's a seven goal win with half our team out. And we're top of the ladder. Not exactly the time to planning the Spanish Inquisition Mark II. As frustrating as the likes of Dawes and O'Brien can be, we need them.

A fantastic achievement.

I was quite confident we could get to the midway point at the very least 8-3 but to be 9-2 and top of the table is credit to everyone at the club.

Set ourselves up for a big second half of the year.

Glad I made this same thread before the Carlton game!
Not worth bumping now.
I always had faith in the boys!

Can't praise the coaching staff and playing group enough. This side continues to give it's all week in week out. Injury ravaged from the start and young kids doing their job with the likes of Beams, Sidey and Wellingham stepping up big time.

Must admit thou that I'm as flat as a tack at the minute with Didaks' injury. Don't think we could afford any more LTI's as its only natural that the young kids will eventually run out of steam. A full list and we win the flag in a canter. Proud and shattered at the same time.

Massive turnaround since the Carlton debacle. I thought we'd come good but not this quickly and not with the extra injuries we've picked up. Sweet to see Blues and Bombers struggling too
Amazing at how completely different paths both us and Carlton are on, since that game.

Our best is so much better then any other team, I'm prepared to say a bit like 2010, when we turn it on no team can come within 8-10 goals of us, and unfortunately for the rest of the comp with players coming back in the second half of the year we will be turning it on even more.

You just can't help to wonder how good we would be with Ball, Krak and even Caff and Keefe in this side.
