Toast 9-2.

I just got back from the game and i've been out since 8am. Pretty much stuffed but meh i'll be downloading the new afl live pc game soon so i'll do it while that's downloading. In short 1-2 hours.

No worries doesn't matter when it's up

The best thing about being 9-2 is that our midfield is confident and looks unrivaled in the league. now that Wellingham and Blair are starting to join the party. How about Pendles, Swan, Thomas, Sidebottom, Beams, Wellingham and Blair for a 7 man punch. Oh and Heath Shaw on the wing if we need him too.And we owe so much to our midfield for this 8 game win streak, they have been dominant. It's awesome to see the development in Beams and Sidebottom. They seem to get better every week.

Would love to see this team take on the Eagles:

Toovey, Brown, O'Brien
Maxwell, Tarrant, Shaw
Sidebottom, Pendlebury, Thomas
Sinclair, Dawes, Goldsack
Fasolo, Cloke, Blair
Jolly, Beams, Swan

Int: Clarke, Wellingham, Buckley :Williams

With the other possible inclusion Reid in for Buckley or Williams. This team against West Coast would make me very happy.

^^^^^^^
I think Pendles won't play but Reid will.

Pendles, Swan, Thomas, Sidey and Beams is the best starting centerline in the AFL, then Jolly our ruck.

It's amazing how well we have recruited over the last 6-7 years. Thomas and Pendles are absolute guns, and Sidebottom and Beams are going to be in the best players in the league in the future. And that's only the tip of the iceberg as far as how good our recruiting has been.:thumbsu:

Derek Hine - you are a genius!

It must say a bit about the development too. The greatest thing about Sidebottom and Beams is that they can play midfield with freedom, knowing that they will not be sat on when Pendles, Swan and Thomas are still in front of them. I'd dare say if the AA form of Sidebottom and Beams continues, this midfield would almost rival Brisbane and Geelongs. The best thing about all of them is that they are extremely different types. They win the ball differently and all have different strengths. We haven't seen them all up and going in the same midfield all year (against the Cats Daisy was clearly underdone and mostly a forward). Exciting to see what they can do together.

Rapt to be 9-2 considering the first couple of weeks of the season.

The next 5 weeks after the bye will be the test.

It looks hard but we have both WCE and Freo at the G.
Carlscum and Geelong aren't exactly flying.

IMO Hawthorn will be the hardest game of the lot.

By my count this is our mini-team of outs for today (have included Didak given how early he went down):

Back: Toovey Keeffe
HB: Shaw Reid Johnson
C: Ball
HF: Krakouer Macaffer
F: Didak Rounds
Foll: Pendlebury J. Thomas

12 players - add a ruckman, a key forward and a couple of midfielders and that would be a pretty handy team. Pretty amazing that we can still win well (and continue to win) without all those players.

Impressive work by the whole club.

Hmmm sounds tempting but the fact that it's on PC (I can't even play Fifa on PC), and how I got bored after about 10 hours on the PS3 version probably means I won't get it.

I actually think that even with all these injuries, we're a strong chance for the flag. I would say, Hawthorn, Adelaide and Eagles are the only teams that can really compete with us. If we can beat the Eagles at their home ground, it should instill belief in the team for if we play them in finals. We've already shown we can beat Adelaide, even at their best. I wouldn't read too much into the Hawthorn game, they seem far too inconsistent this year and we pretty much matched them in Round 1, when they were playing well.

I don't understand.

If you took the equivalent players out of ANY side, and told them their two main forward would do sweet FA for the season, you'd assume they'd finish out of the 8.

We're top for God's sake. It can only mean one of two things (or both).

1) Our coach is amazing.

2) Our midfield is beyond amazing.

I'd like to believe it's both.

I'll add;

3) The whole football department is amazing.

From Walsh, to Buttifant, to Hine, to Mcrae, to Lockyer, to Harvey, to Eade, to Bucks etc etc, the job they have done to keep this team on track over the last 8 weeks has been nothing short of amazing. Where other clubs would have panicked, we have instead done the opposite, galvanising as a club and sticking to everything we have planned to do.

For reference....Carlolton.

Has anyone else enjoyed watching the Pies more this season with how well they've been going despite missing all the players? Being underdogs, not clear favourites, appearing to be having to work harder to get wins up. That win against Adelaide was huge, one of the best wins I've seen the Pies have in some time, and a lot of that was because I wasn't sure about how the team would go, and thought it had gone against us with Keeffe going down in the final qtr after the sub was used. Well done to the team to be 9-2 at the half way point!
