So the solution to an horrific inventory of historical abuse and disenfranchisement, attempted cultural destruction, ongoing structural and systemic prejudice in conjunction with some of the worst health and education outcomes in the developed world is 'dry your eyes and toughen up Princess'.
The fact that the inequality endures simply proves the Aboriginals are 'allowing themselves to be consumed by that' are weak,on the dole and wallowing in self pity.
Simply man up and get on with your life....
Now where have I heard that before.....??

So what's your answer?

More welfare?

More meaningless
symbolism?

Pump a shit load of money into health and education.
Itself a form of positive discrimination that's so railed against by some who tread these boards. If you believe in a needs based model a 10 year old in the APY Lands is going to need a lot more assistance, than a ten year old in a leafy green suburb of a capital city through the life her education if she is to end up with a uni degree, same with other kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This is why the current government's education policy is such a terrible piece policy for the country. These sort of kids are at risk of just slipping through the cracks completely.

Certainly no simple or instantaneous solution.
If the loot isn't accompanied by the proper expertise and goodwill it won't work.
Pearson's ideas seem a little too hard edged for mine but he's a lot brighter and more experienced than me.
Just hope the Professor of Prejudice an Poetry is right and Abbott's committed

Hard edged perhaps, but infinitely preferable to the hard headed, no prisoners, confrontation above all else type approach favoured by others (eg the Bropho connected crew who set up on Herrison Island).

And definitely preferable to the airy fairy, symbolic "racism is bad mkay", t shirt slogan activism stuff favoured by the likes of Adam Goodes and company.

Jobs, jobs and jobs.

That's how we will fix this thing.

Looking back in hate will achieve sod all.

Why haven't we seen Abbott or others standing up and condemning the individuals that can be found in a myriad of videos online spouting anti white abuse on trains?

Why haven't any of the amateur camarapersons capturing such footage actually done something about these "shocking" incidents, rather than just recording videos?

Just see/hear of "amateur footage" on the news and the Internet whenever anything happens these days, just always makes me wonder why people think it's a good/worthwhile idea to just stand there filming something rather than doing something about it or moving away.

Well it's that whole My Lai massacre principle isn't it.

I don't think you can compare some clown shouting on a bus to a massacre, TBH. Just seems absolutely stupid to stand there filming the former, as though it's something that "needs" to be documented. I mean, what is the purpose?

I don't recall ever having seen one, which doesn't really mean they don't exist. Do you have a link to one?

It shouldn't really matter who is the victim of racist rants. It should be condemned, as you say, regardless of the colour of the person.

Do we really expect politicians to call a press conference every time some idiot goes on a drunken rant on a train?

For one thing, actually doing something about it is a legal grey area, and you could actually be the one who ends up being charged by police, who do not at all appreciate it when members of the public demonstrate that their services were not required.

Well what is filming it achieving, then?

In a legal sense it could be considered collecting evidence.

Why on earth would you need to do that, if you're not involved, and it's something as minor as some idiot shouting on a bus, or some fight or argument in the street?

But in reality I think people film it so they have something interesting to share on social media.

So then they're just as big a dickheads as the people they're filming. Ok.

Was a Frontline reference, to an episode which in fact was about exactly the point you are making.

the Blokes just a shit campaigner. people defend shit campaigners all the time, make excuse for them. (see: old triple chins supporters) I'm past giving a shit about no hoper's or trying to justify their shit behaviour. worst is when the shit campaigners try rope me in to their pitiful pathetic tirades. I'm not your ****ing brother.

The Right live in a delusional world where they believe blacks deserve the racism. I had a mens rights nutter tell me that blacks deserve the racism, because they are not equal to us whites:D
Not only is his logic absurd, his statement is factually incorrect. You do hope these young early 20s virgin rightist mra's will grow out of it. Most do, others just end up being lost causes.
