Where do people see these guys playing for the CFC next year? Bullants? Seniors? Ruck? Forawrd? Backline?

Are they better than Dylan McLaren???

Don't mind either of them, think there's some potential there. They should give Bryan some more time in the ruck in 06 to prove himself.

De Luca moves very well for a big fella and IMO is a forward only. Is there room for him in the same forward line as Fev and Lance (also only a forward IMO)? Not sure...

we should use deluca more out of the square and teach him how to mark and use his body-he could be dangerous.

bryan...well most probably a pinch hitter in the ruck off the bench unless we can mould him into a kpp defender

therefore i think it would be useful to get mclaren as a backup ruckman to french. he can ruck solely in our side. maybe get him to nominate for nd and take him with pick 78 and selwood in psd. may have been useful to keep pick 52 (dunno if mclaren will last till 78)....hope saddo proves us wrong and provides stability down back

In my opinion, the list isn't big enough for both of them. Both were drafted as back ups to French but neither have shown much in terms of their rucking abilities.
Deluca plays his best footy as a forward but with Fev, Lance, Waite and Fisher all there, I just don't know how much room there is for him in the forward line.
AS for Bryan, I think he could be suited playing a loose man in defence role, similar to what Whitnall was doing in the second half of the year.

If the Blues draft McLaren, I'd expect both of them to be playing the majority of their games in the VFL if there are no injuries to French and McLaren.

Both need more body strenght before they will make an impact in the Ruck. Bryan has more Ruck potential IMO, than DeLuca who is probably more suited to a FP role. I don't like either of them in the backline at all.

Personally, I hope we stay clear of McLaren, draft Selwood and give Bryan first crack at backing up French in the Ruck. DeLuca can to start out with the Bullants, as we can't play French, Bryan & him in the one side.

Not quite quick or agile enough for mine............I wouldn't want him there week in week out. I'd rather give Hartlett a crack first.

Deluca has shown he's more suited in the forwardline. With Bryan we have to hope he improves his ruckwork or we can try to mould him into a makeshift backman. Deluca's spot in the team I think will depend on form/injuries to other forwards. I don't think he'll get too many games. Bryan will probably start most games and come off the bench playing as a utility.

Bryan looks good kicking out when he goes long. From the goalsquare he can play on, gain a few yards, then launch it 60-70 metres and the ball ends up near our forward flank. His rucking skills need some work but he looks like he has a decent mark. I can't think of too many upsides to delucas game. Not a good kick or mark, he seems to juggle the ball before he grabs it most times. Not a ruckmen. Shows a bit up forward but I reckon it's pretty minimal. Compared to waite, fisher, lance and fev anyway.

No. Bryan has some promise as a back-up ruckman which is why if Troy Selwood was also available I'd go for Selwood, but if he stays with the Lions and McLaren goes in the PSD as he's suggested he will, he'd be a decent pickup.

Would definetely be in the first 22 ahead of Bryan or DeLuca...DeLuca's not ever going to be a ruckman as he doesn't have the physicality required, his favourite position is across the half forward line, but for me, he's not good enough for the AFL. He two grabs all his marks and doesn't kick anywhere near enough goals...he's a Bullants player, especially if Setanta steps up, and/or we draft a key position player like Kennedy, Dowler, etc. with pick 4.

So if we pick up McLaren as looks likely, Bryan will be first ruck for the Ants and DeLuca will be up forward...

De Luca is a handy player to have in the team off the bench, as a reserve forward. He can go forward and stretch defences that don't have much height; or Whitnall can go back and he can just provide a target. May develop as a ruckman too, its one of the hardest positions to play and ruckmen often take a long time to come along.

Bryan is a hard worker and handy to have until something better comes along but will never be more than a temporary option. McLaren is a better ruckman than both but isn't better than French, and doesn't give us all that much that we don't have already so Selwood is a better PSD option IMO

I thought that Bryan had one of the biggest kicks in the league (that was talk that drifted over here to London). Dont have the depth of knowledge as you people but love a thumping kick out of half back.........maybe develop a torpedo specialist who can kick the guts out of the pill 70+ meters whoooo !!

id really like to see chris bryan play half foward he is a great mark and a thumping kick, deluca .. well he really needs improving he can take a good fluke mark but cant kick goals

I hope we do acquire McLaren in the PSD, as Deluca and Bryan are terrible ruckmen! I can only cringe at the thought of losing French early on and then watching these two 'attempt' to cover his spot.

Let's not kid ourselves concerning their ability either. Both were taken very late in the draft and have already reached 23 years of age. I sincerely doubt that Deluca or Bryan would have much development left in them.

Personally I can't see Deluca surviving too long at the club. His skills are terrible and clearly lacks agility and strength to compete against the AFL's best ruckmen. Bryan, however, at least provides some versatility to the team by having the ability to fill various roles in the backline and ruck.

i think DeLuca in the forward pocket, Bryan on the HBF, this gives French real flexibility in terms of where he goes as he doesn't have to worry about ruck work inside either 50.

I'd like to see Bryan play as a Chad Cornes style defender. I'd like to see Archie hold his marks, if he can do that then he'll kick 30 sausage rolls.

I'm with you.
Deluca doesn't take nearly enough marks. We need to keep him for another yaer though until hopfully one of young guys can step up. Players easily run off him. When he actually does get it he isn't reliable in front of the sticks.
I like Bryan though.
I'd take selwood ahead of Mc Laren.
