Hi all,

just gathering info off the net for my little bloke and hes chasing the exact wording for the club song but we have come across two different wordings, i was after the correct version if possible.

the two we have found are as follows:

Cheer, Cheer, the Red and the White,
Honour the name, by day and by night;
Lift that noble banner high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great, or small,
Swans will go in and win over all;
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to Victory.

and the other:
Cheer, cheer the red and the white,
Honour the name by day and by night,
Lift that noble banner high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky
Whether the odds be great or small,
Swans will go in and win overall
While her loyal sons are marching
Onwards to victory.

thanks in advance for all your help.

The recording that is currently being used is "what though the odds be great or small", which I personally prefer as sounding more poetic....

I have also heard other versions of the song as "whether the odds be great or small".

The players actually sing "whether the odds be great or be small", which cracks me up each time I hear it.
