read in the paper today that the Melbourne Football Club is being considered to put on the National Heritage Trust. This means that they will not be able to relocate or change their name. Melbourne are recognised as one of the oldest football clubs and as such are being considered to be placed on this list.
IF A WHOLE FOOTBALL CLUB CAN BE PUT ON WHY CAN'T OUR JUMPER???
We are recognised in the Guinness Book of Records for having the oldest uniform/guernsey/playing strip in the WHOLE WORLD! Surely if these crazy kids at the Heritage trust are willing to put a whole football club on there, they will put merely a playing jumper as well! They dig this sort of stuff.
I can see this as a logical and potential avenue to saving the sash, which avoids conflict and punishment.
As such I encourage everyone to email or write to these guys detailing why you think the Essendon jumper should be considered. If everyone who reads this and agreed with it emails them, and tells at least 5 fellow bomber supporters to do the same, then surely we are some chance for these guys to AT THE VERY LEAST SIMPLY CONSIDER OUR PROPOSAL.
You can email them at conservation@nattrust.com.au or contact them through the following:

It takes simply 5 minutes and has no harm involved, no one is abused, no one is hurt, and it really doesn't place pressure on anyone.
If you care about the jumper give it a go.
It's at least worth a shot.
