2 questions:

1) Which of the follow players do you think are most likely to play at least 14 games next year ( pick 5 ):
2) Which of the follow players would you most like to see play at least 14 games next year ( pick 5 ):

Schback, Begley, Skipworth, S Stevens, Smith, Jericho, Shirley, Krueger, Watts, Bock, Bode, Doughty, Hudson, Massie, Ladhams, Mattner and M Stevens.

1) Shirley - Craig favourite - big heart, not talented enough for AFL IMO
Doughty - Craig Favourite - If he can capture his pre Farmer Knee form I want be too upset if he plays 14 or more games.
Bode - Make or break. Has to finally prove we didn't flush pick 12 down the toliet
Hudson - Has to play at least 14 games IMO.
Bock - Always included in the AFC list of young talent. Terrible SANFL finals form has convinced me that all that bulking up is in vain.

2) M Stevens - If he plays 14 games I reckon we have a chance of making the finals.
Schuback - From the very little I have seen of him, I think he has real potential.
Krueger - If he is good as some on here say he is, we could have a monster crash and bang forward for the next 10 years.
Bode - Good little in an under player, needs to play at least 14 games in 2005 to remain on the list IMO.
Hudson - We need to know if this guy can play. From what I have seen, he has the aggression and approach we require.

***It was very close between Hudson and Mattner for 5th place but becuase we will be Clarkeless in 2006 I went for Hudson. Mind you, I think Mattner has potential. In the Sturt v Eagles final his first half was sublime.
I didn't include Jericho and Watts as i'm hoping Craigy doesn't burn these guys out next year. Between 5-8 games will suffice.

Thoughts??

1) Begley bode doughty Jericho Hudson

2) Krueger Mattner Ladhams Bode Jericho

I included Ladhams because if he does play 14 games or so it will be because he is playing good footy as he will not be given a free ride and his best footy is as good as anyone.

I have already written Ladhams off - terrible attitude from what I have heard.

I am not holding my breath, thats why I didnt put him in my most likely list but if he does play 14 games he would be a great player for the AFC in 2005 but it would take a dramatic change.

Shirley
Bock
Doughty

2)would you most like to see play at least 14 games next year

Mattner......I think he can be a good player...'05 will tell the tale

5 most likely

Doughty
Bode
Shirley
Massie
Jerico

(doesnt really strike fear into opposition supporters though..)

In terms of the 5 I would like to see.....I find that hard to answer as there are a number of different considerations (developing juniors like Krueger/Smith/Watts/Jerico, or recapturing past form for some - Bode/Ladhams etc). I would like to see 2-3 of the young guys above perform well and DEMAND to be selected in over 14 games

5 most likely

Begley
Shirley
Jericho
Bode
Doughty

Begley - likely leader if he gets those damned injuries
bode - we if he doesnt then delist 05
see below for the others

I would like to see

Jericho
Husdon
Krueger
Doughty
Shuback

It would be a great disappointment if Jericho didnt play 14 he shouldnt go backwards in his second year - if possible a rising star should be his aim,

I would also love to see Kruger get the the place many posters on this board have place him

Hudson for obvoius reasons need to play at least 14 if we are going to ruck him in 06

Doughty to prove he is a gun go to man

and shuback to get 14 games and we trade him back to victoria for a good pick off hawthorn - or he is a gun and we keep him !

Attitudes change with a bit more maturity. He had his downer and I for one am expecting big things from Ladhams next year or its over.

1) Bode, Mattner, Begley, Ladhams, Doughty
2) Schuback, Krueger, Hudson, M. Stevens, Watts

1.) Mattner, M Stevens, Doughty, Shirley(wtf), Bode

2.) Jericho, Schuback, Begley, Krueger, Watts

wouldn't mind seeing what Ladhams has to offer next year too, has plenty of talent, but like u guys said attitude could be the problem...

is that sarcasm i sensing ?

Not at all.

At the moment Schuback has been of almost zero value to the Crows.

I was applauding the idea of either getting him to become a player of worth, or trade him for at least some value.

This will be his 4th year.

I still have faith in Schuback. Sure his shoulder reconstruction has interrupted his pre-season but I still think the kid can play and play well. Would add some much needed pace to the side and some goal kicking ability.

(1) Doughty, Bode, Jericho, M Stevens, Watts
(2) Doughty, Bode, M Stevens, Watts, Ladhams ('cause that will mean that Ladhams has started performing!)

With all of our squad available, there's no way Schuback is in our best 22 Stiffy. Who could he displace and from what position??

In all honesty I think there are about 15 players that "pick themselves" the rest of the positions are up fro grabs. If there youngster and experienced player are on a par with their performances then we will go with the youngster 9/10 times.

I think Schuback's advantage is that he can play a number of positions. He also has a LOT of pace which we lack as a club. I think Schuback could be a surprise packet. I am almost certain that Craig will push him into the midfield this year as we need to start to blood some youngsters there. The kid needs an opportunity and decent game time. Personally, I would play Schuey ahead of Doughty, Shirley etc..

I have not lost fait :)

Or perhaps a fait accompli as well? ;)

As for him being the next bing thing, I never knew the lad was a crooner in the style of Bing Crosby.

However, if he does make it big time as a footballer for us, I'll be the first to say "I was wrong" and be delighted about it. I just think that if that was going to be the case, he would have shown a bit more than he has in the last 3 years.

I hope you're right though.
