Imagine a world without social media, in particular facebook. Say facebook is wiped off the internet tomorrow.
My predictions are:
The birthrate would reduce - nothing to put photos up on of ugly kids doing meaningless things relentlessly. I seriously believe this. Particularly amongst the bogan population.
The engagement/marriage rate would be much lower - as above.
The skywriting industry would be booming - people seem desperate to tell everyone their thoughts, what their doing.
People would be less angry I think - statements and stuff that piss people off on facebook seem to get the blood boiling. If they cant see what other people think > ignorance is bliss.
An advancement in social intelligence - people need to talk to each other face to face to communicate, using other more subconcious forms of communicating like body language, expression in dialogue, use of expressive language etc.
I think society would be a lot more harmonised and linguistic. And less vain.
Interested to hear other peoples thoughts.
