what happened and how was it due to FB?

Thought they could act king dick behind a keyboard infront of everyone from school, so I put them in their place and they didn't like it one bit. Needless to say said person carried on like a tosser resorting to making up rumours in their statuses following that embarrassment. And if that wasn't bad enough their family began inboxing me continuously making empty threats. I simply told them I would be showing the cops all the messages and I have never seen a bunch of people shit themselves so quickly LOL. Anywho, I decided to deactivate today instead of deleting. Haven't been on Facebook all day today and have been happy

Also find 'Facebook celebrities' who feel the need to constantly update what they are doing all day incredibly tiresome. I have some who are forever uploading photos of random things they do during the day and one seriously posted a picture of a cup of tea and and a book and got like 20 likes. Was lame.

People with nothing to do have more time to tell everyone about it on Facebook. People doing interesting things are - doing interesting things.


Overall I think it can make some things easier for distant relationships, but it also makes us lazier. You can not call / Skype that cousin in Japan 'cause you get drip fed info on Facebook.

I thought it could be a good tool to help networking - especially for people with niche interests - but really overall it just doesn't offer up all that much. I learn too much about the lives of fringe friends and couldn't be stuffed changing my settings (again).

I don't think much will change- I was perfectly happy before Facebook.
I am not oversharing type of person anyway- I do pity those kids too who have every whim and disease of their kid on FB.

At the bottom of the chat thing there's an options button, and when you click that there is one called "go offline".

Lol'd at some guy on my Facebook who put his status as something which no one would have any idea what he's talking about. When the inevitable "what's wrong babe? xx" came, he said he needed a job. Then a new person came in and said "I thought you had a job?" to which the original guy says, "I did. The guy called me to say I got it, but then never called me back to tell me when I start".

I have a feeling he is going to struggle a bit if he can't take it upon himself to call the company up and ask when he starts.

He should just show up on a Monday, on time , and hope there's no penske file.

Yeah, I won't delete it. I use it for keeping up with things like musicians (ie, releasing new albums or whatever), TV shows (premiere dates), and the Freo and Arsenal feeds give me a laugh when I read through the comments. It's good for talking to mates and you can always have a chuckle at some of the idiots you have as friends.

Anyway, is anyone else slightly nostalgic about Myspace? I was thinking about this last night. I deleted my account last year after two years of it being abandoned. Now, I'm curious to see those old messages and 'comments.' I feel like seeing old photos on the extremely clunky image viewer and seeing the lame 'pc4pc' updates. I just regret deleting it. It was a real period.

I still have my myspace. I don't use it anymore but I get a bout of nostalgia every now and then(one a year or two) and I have a look at it. lol.

Well I stay friends with them, just block their stuff from my wall, as are most of the people i'm friends with. I only use Facebook to talk to people when I want to, I don't give a shit what most people have to say in their statuses

The only people who are unblocked from my wall are people who I know post things that might interest me, and people who are incredibly stupid yet don't realise, like the guy I posted about at the top of this page
