Aaron Naughton or Oscar Allen

Who do you think is better and or would you expect to go on to have a better career ?

It's a difficult one because Naughton started off like a steam engine than suffered that unfortunate knee injury, and Oscar's last 12 months have been extraordinary.

It's a toss of a coin, but going for Oscar Allen

It's tough because Naughton gets the number 1 defender whereas Allen usually the 3rd choice defender. Having said that Naughton gets more chances as he doesn't have to compete with a Darling and Kennedy at Bulldogs.

playing the marginally better footy right now, but Naughton's ceiling is higher and I can easily see him reaching it if he manages to avoid injury. Getting the first defender each week certainly isn't easy, but neither is competing with Darling and Kennedy for forward entries.

Tough one, but controversially I'm going to say Naughton right now.

-Naughton the better mark
-Allen more versatile
But it's a hair between them as the other one is also damn good in those areas.

Naughton playing as number one where as Allen being behind JK and Darling the deciding factor in the end. Allen becoming the number one forward may shift it in future.

Clearly biased, but Oscar is just so versatile. Back/Forward/Ruck, he can do pretty much any job we ask him to do. He’s got much more improvement left in him too. What has come in leaps and bounds this year has been his contested marking. His hands are just so clean.

Massive fan of Naughton, as well, he’s another with just excellent contested marking ability. Him at 100 games is going to be ridiculous. He’s ahead at the moment; it will be interesting to see where they finish up. Really hope we get to see them both play injury free for the next 10 years.

I still lean towards Naughton, but I'd be thrilled with either. You can't lose out of this choice, two long term KPP guns, versatile enough to fill either end if required.

Oh for sure. Naughton could be an AA at either end which only the top few players can really do.

More referring to Oscar. He’s been a stop gap for us ever since he debuted. We give him a role, he does it. He must be such a pleasure to coach.

Theres no losing in this choice I don’t think.

Oscar Allen is the Jack Gunston type of player. A very good third tall, very effective in his role at scoring and creating goals. Adelaide Tom Lynch is another good comparison.

Rubbish. Allen is only playing as a third tall due to his age and the Kennedy/Darling combination. He's clearly a key forward and will rightly take his spot their post Kennedy, i.e. soon.

And yet, he's done nothing to prove that. All you can do is mindlessly insist you're right.

Allen gets the third defender every week, the same way English does for us. Its easy to kick 5 goals in a game when Quaynor is your opponent for most of the match.

Just like it's easy to kick 5 goals a game when you get the ball kicked to you a million times a game like Naughton, instead he will deliver you 2.4 from 12 kicks to him

You really don't know anything about football.

Tom Boyd had the ball kicked to him "millions of times a game", I don't think he'd say kicking 5 goals is easy. He'd struggle to even get 5 kicks.

When you're getting the best defender every week, which entails being regularly double and triple teamed as the main focal point, its actually significantly more difficult to have any impact whatsoever, let alone score goals.

Ok so Bulldogs are destroying GC by 10 goals and Naughton struggling to get a kick. Wonder if GC are playing 4 defenders on him......

Oscar Allen only kicked one goal against Port. I guess he must be bad...

He kicked 0 goals against us last year, and we have a weakness in tall defenders. Yikes, I guess that makes him pretty awful by your logic.

Against Port, Allen was 2nd ruck so he doesn't play 100% forward like Naughton does

Further proving you font watch him. He occasionally shifts to defence when called upon. Naughton also regularly does a lot of work up the ground.

So does every forward in the league nowadays....
