FORMER AFL star Gary Ablett senior has been bashed in an alleged attempted robbery in Geelong.
The attack happened some time after 11.30pm (AEST) last night in Latrobe Terrace, Geelong's busiest street, police said.
Ablett was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.
A man, 31, has been charged with attempted robbery, assault with intent to rob, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon.
He will face the Geelong Magistrates' Court today.
Police would not confirm what weapon was used in the alleged attack. – A

So anyone who has made mistakes in their life deserves to be assaulted with weapons anytime they walk the streets?

I have no problems with Gary Ablett , he was a champion player with a questionable character in my opinion but you cant really be seen to want to use the media to suit your means one day and then want to be left alone the next . it doesn't work that way . His name will always sell papers , rightly or wrongly , and he will have to get used to it . Along with everyone else.
