Yet another reason for people like Blues_Man and myself to think he is the absolute scum of the earth who deserves zero sympathy.

If he is so keen for forgivness perhaps he should contact the family or make a public statement that would shed some light on the matter. We all know why he wont do that though. He is a gutless coward who has done nothing but blame everyone else for his troubled life outside football.

Instead its all about him and his new found relationship with GOD.

The media. I heard him sook about it a couple of weeks ago. Apparently its all their fault. His depression, his inability to function normally. He's a top bloke and they just keep picking on him. Perhaps he should try and look at himself for being such an ordinary individual. Try accepting responsibility. The media didnt seem to bother him when he was trying to sell some crap stories for big dollars though. Strange that.

That article is interesting. The guy that bashed Ablett, his family was involved in a dispute with his daughter, wonder what the dispute was about? Also interesting that the guy said Ablett attacked him, guess we will have to wait for the outcome of the court case.

But seems, that the guy bashed Ablett because of the dispute with the daughter, or vice versa.

The Ablett girl has been in trouble for theft in the past.

It looks as though Ablett and the offender met by chance, the offender had a problem with Ablett's daughter believing that she stole something of his son. Two parents defending the honour of their kids.

There is a kind of irony that Gary was targetted, not becuase of who he is, but because of his daughter.

Sorry I don't recall Ablett blaming the media for screwing up his life, do inform me when you have some proof of that. What I do recall is Ablett trying to sell his speech, rightfully so, and not being sure how much he should ask due to not having a manager and all. A mistake anyone could have made.
On the contrary to Ablett blaming the media, I'm pretty sure I've heard Ablett admit to his mistakes, blaming no-one but himself.
We Geelong supporters don't stick up for Ablett because of his footballing prowess and his hero status, we stand up for him becasue unlike people who don't support Geelong, we hear alot more about him and know more about his current life status than others, just like, say, an Adelaide supporter knows what Tony Modras up to, or a Sydney supporter knows what Lockett is doing. Many of us don't see Ablett as a 'top bloke', but what we do see is a fallen hero that deserves another go. So get off his back for being bashed. It was not his fault.

P.S. As for his daughter, she has been in trouble of late for shoplifiting and stealing, maybe the guy that bashed Ablett had experienced this.

I can't defend what Jimmy Buckley did, he was very lucky not to do time, and Ablett has to live with he has done for the rest of his life.
