The one with him running is a snip from the video of him sliding into Gibsons legs - knees first again - while Gibbo was chasing the ball.

Gibson missed a few weeks. Lucky not more.

well, leaving aside the fact that I was there and he wasn't being booed all night, I'm unsure. Undoubtedly there would have gotten involved and relished it due to underlying racism.

Goodes didn't slide in on Gibson. He got his leg in front of Gibson and got the ball out to Hannebery. Not sliding.

Just because someone yells a racist comment in no way is evidence of a racist country either. They say that 5% if the population are sociopaths and 1% are psychopaths. That means genetically 1% of the population enjoy other people suffering. At any game of football with a crowd of 25000 people there would 250 psychos. So is it really mindblowing that one person every once in a while says a racist comment for what ever reason? I would argue that Hawks supporters boo Goodes because they just don't like him as a footballer. Sometimes players just get boo'd. Buckley is a good example. He was perceived as arrogant, full of him self and surly, and he got boo'd. It happens. And the more you give this oxygen the more it will happen.

Yes, I totally agree with all that you have said. I am not one of those people here insisting without any proof that anyone who boos Goodesy is racist, although I think it reasonable to assume that at least some of them are.[racist]

Absolutely. And that is horrible that racists exist. The problem comes when some people in here assign unreasonable figures to how much of it is racism. Even just in terms of this supposed "casual racism" towards Adam the numbers would have to be 15% or under. So actual racism is then even a smaller number after that, 5% probably. If 10,000 is the figure that were booing, 500 were racially inclined and 3 times that number don't understand their prejudice. Is that too high? I don't know. Historically it's something we can we happier about. 20 years ago they wouldn't have been booing, and instead yelling obscene comments. (I should point out I don't personally agree the percentages are that high...)

I champion the rights of the 80% left to either hate Adam Goodes or even as little as think him a flog (or w/e term you want) for instances here and there he did on field or off it. Just as they may feel about other players, white, or otherwise. Because I feel strongly they aren't doing it for racial reasons. I feel they have a body of evidence on Adam and the opinions reflect that. They state why they would boo him and when it began, what instance etc and nothing seems out of place to me.

He pointed out a little girl (a decade after already having suspect incidents on field mounting up in number) to make an example for racism still existing. That action can easily explain increase in prevalence adding to his on field discrepancies previous. Definitely a factor is he is the poster boy for AFL/pet status, and for Sydney as a flag rival (in the case of the hawks game).

My opinion doesn't matter and it doesn't have to. I'm just expressing it to other people to gain a perspective over what the big fuss is about. It's 100% untrue that I don't care otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

If there were opportunities to improve the socio-economic standards of those communities then I'm all for helping if I can (such as life expectancy).

However, if it is to acknowledge about original land ownage over a tribe 50,000 years ago, I don't see what the big fuss is in agreeing or disagreeing. Will somehow me agreeing with it improve Indigenous life expectancy?

I have a soft spot for indigenous peoples all around the world because they lost so much in the expansion of European colonialism.

And my biggest gripe is the lack of respect we have shown for their culture AND their wisdom.

Western thought is systematically destroying the planet. The answers to that problem may very well come from understanding the indigenous relationship to land.

The aboriginal people did not experience dominion over the land. They did not consider themselves 'owners' of the land the way we think of that.

They felt at one with the land and treated it like their mother. We walked in and systematically desecrated that relationship.

I don't have any answers for the infant mortality rates or the life expectancy. But I do think Reapect and Recognition are not that difficult to achieve.

All it takes is empathy which is a quality all human beings have.
