Adelaide Board Moderator

Now Port & most other team boards have one (or two) of their own supporters as a moderator, should we be pushing for a Crows supporter(s) to moderate this board. Let me make clear it I have no problems with Danni, but wouldn't it be preferable to have a Crows supporter who fully appreciates AFC issues rather than a Brisbane supporter who wouldn't know all the ins & outs? I reckon we have some great level-headed contributors on this board who would make great moderators & would generate good discussion. My preference would be for two moderators, so one can cover the other going away, etc. Thoughts everyone?

I cant ever remember a moderator intervening in my time here, do we need a couple? If so I vote Macca23 Kane Napsyd Siffy_18 and/or Noddy

Yeah, it would certainly make more sense to have a supporter as a mod (no offence to Danni, of course). Yep Kane, 2 mods would be better IMO too.

I have no problems with Danni.

However I agree that it would be great to have 2 mods who are Crows supporters. I vote for Kane, Macca23 and Topjars.

Same as those before me have said - no problems at all with Danni as moderator but it probably is a good thing to control your own destiny with your own people.

I think it would be the case that two moderators would be better than one, and I reckon there's plenty of talent on this board who could be a moderator. Kane, TJ, Stiffy, Noddy, Jerome, Napsyd etc. I'd have a bash at it if that's what people wanted, but as I've said we have some pretty talented people around.

I think Port Adelaide got their own moderator and ultimately two moderators by submitting votes to Bluey, which is a pretty democratic way to do it.

No offence taken folks, just thought I would drop you a line and let you know I actually have broached this subject with Bluey a week or 2 ago, and have made my recommendations.

I'm not going to say who I suggested as it isn't my decision, but suffice to say the wheels are already in motion. I might give Bluey a reminder on this issue actually.

Oh and for the record, I think there has been a total of about 7 reports from this board, resulting in 3 or 4 posts/threads being removed. That's it!

Thanks fo keeping us in the loop Danni! BTW, I must admit I hadn't even noticed missing posts or threads (apart from the BF crash).

I reckon there are quite a few who would make good moderators (as has already been mentioned) - Macca23, Stiffy, napsyd, noddy, TJ, Jerome, Jars458, etc.

BTW, Ant & KingCrow are you guys still around under a different username or have you just gone dormant in the off-season?

I'm ok as it is with Danni as mod but if the rest of you guys opt for a crows mod well that's ok 2, Kane, Napsyd, topjars or macca23 would make good moderators as they are reg posters & pretty level headed when it comes to responding to our detractors from below,

I'm flattered (and perplexed!!) by all those who feel I could be a moderator. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately, my access is only work related. As such I have little or no weekend or out of hours access to bigfooty, which I suppose would be one of the No.1 criteria.

I think we are blessed on this board having such a group of club faithful and level headed contributors. I'm sure we will find many who can handle the job nicely.

Speaking of handling the job nicely, Danni you certainly do a fine job here and I thank you for it.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you on this one. I haven't been online as much as usual over the last couple of weeks.

No further news as of yet, though it has certainly been raised for discussion. As I am sure you can appreciate there are a number of things going on in the background at present to try and bring the site up to the best working order possible intime for the start of the season, and with so many different things going on it tends to take longer than usual to deal with each one.

I'll keep you informed but would expect that appointing a new moderator intime for the start of the season is the most likely scenario.

I hate stickies

If they are popular threads they will be on top naturally

Stickies are artificial and annoying. See Big Footy weekly news for an example.

How about sticky the introductions thread, and leave the other one to exhaust itself naturally - as Jars said it will stay up there as long as ppl are intersted in it.

But I think the intros thread is good for new ppl coming onboard.

Thanks for the sticky-ing of the Introductions thread, I think it is a good idea, esp for new people. Although you will soon be leaving as mod, I think you have done a fine job.

As well as a bouquet, this post is also a bump re: the new mod. Any news???....less than a week to go before the season kicks off
