Not sure if anyone realises but the AFL havent done us any favours with this scheduling. As Collingwood are playing on Wednesday in the ANZAC Day clash, they get a 10 day break before we meet them on Saturday Night week.
We play Freo on Sunday arvo and only have a 6 day break. We dont travel home until Monday and its known teams can struggle after the Perth trip, why wouldnt they have at least played our game on the Saturday night??

They have to front up after a 4 day break. It all evens out.

Collingwood do seem to get a few teams backing up after tough interstate trips. We got them the week after both our Darwin trips in 2004 & 2006.

We have the best fixture we've ever had. This one isn't perfect, but if it's the worst thing in our fixture then we're doing well. Even with a 10 day break some of them will still be feeling playing two games so close together.

Meh I am not concerned, they have to play two games within 4 days. Surely it will take more time to recover.

I noticed it a few weeks ago.

I also notice that Essendon (off the 10 day break) will play Hawthorn in Round 6, who also play this Sunday.

It's well documented that it's tougher to come up off a 6 day break than a 7 day break in the AFL. Yet the league has scheduled 6 day turnarounds for 2 teams playing those with 10 day turnarounds.

I have no idea why the AFL could not either (a) schedule Essendon and Collingwood to play 2 of the 8 teams involved in Friday or Saturday matches this week, to let both sides have closer rest periods, or (b) set the Adelaide v Collingwood and Essendon v Hawthorn games for next Sunday instead of Saturday.

I believe it's Essendon who are the lucky ones who play in Perth in R22 this year...
Which is a lovely change...

With the amount of injuries we copped and how hard a game it was, the 6 day break compared to Collingwoods 10 is going to make it pretty tough.

Fella's you guys are so smart, you're on to us. I don't know how you found out, but you have. The AFL has a super secret cell that looks at all the scheduling for every team, if it in any way disadvantages Collingwood they quickly change it. C'mon on guys keep it real, probably one thing cost the Crows that game and that was 15 minutes of poor footy at the start of the 1st quarter and another 15 minutes at the end of the 3rd. Really only played good footy for 1/2 a quarter in the 2nd. I mean it wasn't like you had legs until 1/2 time then died.

My one question about scheduling is why on Earth didn't the Crows either not play in Perth last weekend, or at least play on Friday or Saturday if they were playing a team who played on Wednesday?

I don't think the AFL are in collusion, merely incompetent.
