Adidas Australia have contacted us and asked us to remove any images with the Adidas logo.

From now on please do not use the Adidas logo on any designs. Just indicate the spot where the logo might go.

I really do have to commend a company that is so willing to keep the customer base and public happy and satisfied with their brand and image with their generosity and niceness................oh wait.

But this is the biggest load of shit i've ever heard. There are websites for literally every sport in existence that would be using adidas logos to put together uniform ideas.

We aren't doing any harm whatsoever. The images leaked here were leaked elsewhere as well.

Does this include photos of Hawthorn and Essendon guernseys etc? That's a massive grey area.

Pissweak Adidas, and i'm going to actively boycott purchasing any Adidas stuff from now on.

Obviously if it is a photo of an existing jumper, no that is not a problem. Taking the Adidas logo and putting it on your own design is a problem.

There are probably close to 1000, if not more, designs with adidas logos on them scattered throughout this board alone. Will these have to be all taken down?

Also, is it okay to make a fake "abidas" logo that has no real resemblance to adidas but at least the people on this board will know what it means?

By using the adidas logo you are suggesting that adidas authorise and approve this design.
So in that regard I can see their point.

But I'd say it's more likely they don't want their logo used because they can control when things get released.
(like the Hawthorn jumpers)
Now this is breaking news, so they can't enforce it because of this reason, so they'll claim the first reason, but it's actually for the second.

I'd suggest just using a couple of dollar signs in place of a logo. Easy enough to do, doesn't infringe, gets the message across.

For jumper guides we're good to go. When we post it on this board, under Australian Law it would be filed in Fair Dealing which is a similar to what the USA have in Fair Use . The category would be either under:

I agree, their only real claim would be to take down logos on concept jumpers because it gives the impression they have made them.
But in terms of pics of adidas jumpers in use in games, or depictions of actual jumpers, we would be allowed, by law, to show them.

Well this just completely stuffs up my AFL NFL crossover. Will use dollar signs instead of their logo. What a disgrace. If anything we are giving them more exposure as a manufacturer in the AFL.
