*Disclaimer - I don't claim to be the best or super knowledgeable for that matter. I try my personal best every year to keep up with the draft class, learn their traits, watch their tapes and predict the draft. I give a lot of credit to GiantRoo who provides some top notch YouTube videos, as well as fellow draft posters on this board who know a lot more than me and their threads help me learn the basics of the players before I start to get to know them myself.

Reckon the Crows would be celebrating if they got Brayshaw that late.

I like the Coffield to Collingwood selection. The Pies have some great on-ballers but haven't had much speed and skill on the outside for a while now, especially with Varcoe and Wells struggling to get on the park. I like Coffield, I reckon he's really suited to AFL.

If the club keep Pick 6, Coffield is certainly my ideal guy. I don't see Brander as a #1 forward personally which is what we need. The Pies might get some criticism for not selecting a tall, but he's worth it imo.

Brayshaw goes up the ranks every week - could be top 10 by November

Stephenson would be my pick for North, although I am told his kicking is a bit awkward looking in terms of technique.

As a saints fan, I would be pumped if Cerra fell to our pick. Fogarty is hard to get a read on given his injuries this year as well as indifferent form. I'm hoping that it was a case of the injuries hold him back this year and they can be remedied relatively quickly. Hoping it's the Lever discount factor where he falls in the draft due to injuries and lack of exposed form but able to get back to top form.

Enjoyed reading your work and perspective. I also think Higgins is a terrific player, although for Fremantle I would have preferred almost anyone else in your top 15.

We are a short time frame away from subtracting Mundy from our playing list, and of course we minus-ed Pavlich last year. My mathematics adds those two players together and comes up with Fogarty as the answer.

Dockers - (Mundy + Pavlich) = Fogarty

That's fair enough - the Dockers could select anyone really. The same applied last year - just days before the draft thy were linked to SPS, Brodie, Logue, English, Simpkin and Scrimshaw
Surely the Pies take a key forward, no? Presumably Brander if he's available.
I and many others don't see him as a #1 forward but rather a supporting forward, which isn't #1 on our shopping list.

So he's not a genuine key forward yet you liken him to Joe Daniher?

And in your description you say you back him to make it as a CHF. But not a genuine key forward?

OK, then.

Maybe you should read your own post before writing him off.
I don't think rating a player as a top ten prospect is exactly 'writing them off'

I compared him to Daniher because he's a great contested mark with a ripping field kick. He still doesn't have a set position yet, hence why I don't think he'll be a #1 key forward.

If you disagree, good on you. Go make your own thread and dance for your opinions.

As if anyone can tell whether he'll make it or not.

As opposed to a key forward?

Not sure what your point is? A player can be not rated. Our recruiters may see different on the day I'll back their judgement but I like other players over Brander.

Have you watched Balta this year? Has played just about every position on the park. I like him playing the CHF/Ruck role the most. We also need key defenders so if he turns out a defender we won't be complaining.

Yet you back Brander to make it as a CHF?

Doesn't that suggest he is in fact a key forward prospect?

It's more that you appear to disagree with yourself.

Writing him off as a key forward.

False. I said very clearly he is a key forward and defender and I think he'll make it as a centre half-forward.

Yes that is exactly right. Not once did I say he isn't a key position player.

Get a load of yourself, man. It's a phantom draft for crying out loud.

OK. So if he is in fact a key forward prospect, and you back him to hold down CHF, wouldn't that appeal to Collingwood?

That's all I'm saying. Isn't that Collingwood's #1 need?

There are two key forwards in an ideal forward line - a #1 forward and a #2 forward who supports the #1. A #2 example would be Jack Darling who is a support forward for Josh Kennedy, a #1 key forward.

To me, Jarrod Brander is a #2 key forward, as are Darcy Moore and Ben Reid, two players we already have.

Let's rewind to the start - I RATE Brander, very highly in fact but I don't think Collingwood should select him because he's not the best fit. Capiche?

I'd have thought Collingwood would be interested in any key forward, regardless of where he fits into your magic number theory.

Good effort and good selections

#15 - Balta richmond is about the right selection but with our 2nd pick (if we still have it) more than likely we would be taking Sam Hayes rather than O'Brien
#16 - Sam Hayes - Most likely for needs specially with Patrick Naish coming to Tigers with a later pick

Why do you seem so triggered every single time I see you post? Are you ok?
