We gave Brodie Martin 2 years.. in that context, Henderson probably deserves a 5-year contract.:p

Hard to argue with that, I was also gobsmacked when I heard that Martin was handed a two year extension especially when we presently have such a small amount of fat on our list that we can trim.

Are you flying over to watch Luke Thompson's last home match for the Crows Vader?
I'm waiting to mop up the floor around here from all the tears shed when <insert your favourite fringe player> isn't selected to play this week - be it Henderson, Martin, Otten, ... all of whom are "must be selected" players this week. The odds are that Talia will be the only player dropped, probably replaced by Thompson.

Not that any of this has anything to do with AFC contracts.

Who are we going to be able to cut next year? Rutten & Johncock might retire.. maybe. Otten might be delisted if he's not traded this year and fails to get back into the senior team in 2013.. maybe. You'd have to think that VB & Reilly are safe as houses. That leaves McKernan as the only other player known to be coming out of contract next year...

OP has been updated to reflect:
  • Callinans' upgrade to the senior list (12-month contract)
  • Luke Thompson re-signing (contract length unknown - assumed to be 12-months)
  • Doughty retired
  • Knights free agent departure
  • Symes delisted
Will update Tippett's status when the trade becomes official.

OP has been updated to include the "class of 2011" - assuming that all players arriving last pre-season (by trade or draft) were put on 2-year contracts, except for Crouch who is known to be on a 3-year contract.

I've also updated Tambling's status. He's apparently contracted for 2013, which blew out all my predictions for his delisting (which were predicated on him being out of contract).

Will Young (rookie) has been deleted from the list, given that he announced his retirement months ago.

Nathan van Berlo just signed a 3 year contract too Vader http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...ntract-extension/story-e6freck3-1226599693453

ADELAIDE'S players are delivering their most-meaningful strike at turncoat forward Kurt Tippett by signing long-term deals at West Lakes.

Captain Nathan van Berlo has joined lead ruckman Sam Jacobs and key defender Daniel Talia in committing to the Crows until the end of 2016 to signal their belief in Adelaide's AFL premiership bid is worth more than money on offer elsewhere.

Vb's new contract puts him into unrestricted FA territory when it expires.

The current FA list confirms that Scott Thompson's contract does expire this year, and that Bernie Vince is contracted until at least the end of next year.

I think he was unrestricted this time around anyway, due to not being in the club's top-10 earners.

OP updated to reflect new info regarding Thompson & Vince.

Who? Because both Thompson and VB should be in the top 10 earners.

Wow really? He's not my favourite player but he should be in the top 10 paid
I can think of a few who would be ahead of him..
Tex, Sauce, Thompson, Dangerfield, Rutten.. That's only 5 players. Who the other 5 are is a mystery to me. Sloane, maybe?

All I know is that the Herald Sun's list of free agents (as per the Free Agents thread) stated that he was unrestricted at the age of 26. All of our other FAs this year are aged 29-30, unrestricted due to having accumulated 10+ years of service. VB hasn't been on our list that long, so the only way he can be unrestricted is if he's outside our top 10 salary earners.

Looks like he was restricted, which means he must be in the top 25%. I agree it must have been a pretty close run thing though. Academic now anyway.

Interesting.. HS article said he was unrestricted, AFL article says he's restricted.

I can't come up with 10 players who I think should be paid higher than him, so I'll run with what the AFL have stated.:)

So from all the signings recently, the only guys without renewed contracts that have played this year are
Scott Thompson
Porps
Otten
McKernan

Interesting, even Truck has just been signed up again.
