We know Seedsman is in negotiations with the club already - the sticking point is apparently contract length. He wants 4 years, the club is offering 3. Four years would be criminally negligent, given his injury prone body. Even 3 years is risky.

Some points on these contracts:

2023:
Was happy sloane signed but 2023 is a very long way off. Just hope sloane can see out this contract and learn to deal with tags. Maybe we will see him not being tagged as much as our midfield depth grows or possibly sloane will finish off his career forward.
McPherson. Obviously highly rated. Hope he gets his body right

2022:
This group is somewhat concerning to me. Talia, Walker and Lynch. I hope this group can stay healthy and their level of output will last for 4 years. I would have traded lynch out this year and giving him 4 years was a major mistake. Talia is also a concern for me as he has been injury prone the last 2 years. Walker is the biggest concern. Needs a massive 2019 otherwise he needs to be traded or retire end of 2019.

2020:
Brad Crouch: Make or break year. Hopefully has a good year to increase his trade value. Would definitely trade end of 2019.
Betts: Will not see out his contract. Will retire end of 2019 i feel.
Atkins, Poholke, Hartigan. Would look at trading all 3 this year or end of the next.
Milera: Would sign him up on a 3 year extension. A key player for us.
Gallucci and Himmelberg. Would like them extended 2 years past their contracts.
McGovern. Will be gone end of year as long as we get a top 10 pick and a 2nd rounder.

Looked like it was more than just missing a preseason. I have never heard of this until this year. You miss a preseason and you can’t get yourself back to a reasonable level over 5-6 months during the actual season.

It’s sets you back 4-6 weeks, fair enough. But to still be such a shadow of himself in round 21?
