If that ain't the G then Perth but not possible with border restrictions (have a funny feeling the threat of Corona will dissipate once the GF is in play) than Adelaide.

What does the AFL really want to get out of alternative GF venue? Biggest crowd? Highest revenue? Ability to still play a day game and broadcast it at night into the Melbourne TV market?

Yeah they are good points. Certainly revenue will be huge but it may come down to which state is covid free that can house all the participating teams. If covid spreads across more boarders the AFL playing zone will shrink to what is available. NT and Tas can't be ruled out.

Never got the ratings argument for finals. Those who will watch it will. Everyone else will maybe watch the game once and forget it. (Why I don't favour Sydney). If you want to grow that is long term investment not a one off gimmic.

This season is so ridiculous , no Vic team has any chance of winning it ... Vic teams are living out of hotels , no normal routines , don't get to go home to their own bed after a game.. all these little things add up...

And before the interstate teams go... Oh that's us every year.. ahhhh no it's not , you play your home games etc ...this year every game is an away game for the Vic teams..

The Vic teams are going to start becoming mentally drained and the longer this goes on ..the more they will drop away and players will go home.

Eagles are back home in their own beds , front of their own fans .. etc ..

Pendlebury, De Goey clearly make a difference. Particularly Pendlebury. Probably one of the best midfielders of the last decade. Grossly underrated when compared to Dangerfield and Martin.

The only problem after this game is that there is no way known the AFL hierarchy is going to want the AFL grand final at Optus stadium if the Eagles are in contention.

It’s not only that though. What are the WA government going to do in order to get the Grand Final at Optus Oval? I’m yet to hear any solid proposal tbh.

The Victorian Government made a $225 million deal with the AFL to have the Grand Final in Victoria until 2057. Mark McGowan doesn’t even want to enter into a bidding war with the other states. If WA lose the ability to host the Grand Final, then it may end up being because of their nonchalant attitude towards it.

Optus or AO would be filled regardless of who plays. Without Victorians travelling I don't think a Gabba/ANZ GF would sell out with local representation. Does anyone in Sydney really want to go and see Port vs Brisbane in a GF?

What do you think we were doing for 4 weeks prior to and in between rounds 2 and 5 on the GC?...

living out of hotels , no normal routines , don't get to go home to their own bed after a game.. all these little things add up...
