Remember when Chad Warner booted the ball into the crowd when he heard the siren and the umpires didn't award a Prestia a 50m penalty?

Remember when Dane Rampe climbed the goal post and there was no free kick paid against him?

Remember when Tom Papley took a dive after kicking a goal vs Hawthorn and was rewarded with another goal?

Remember when Barry Hall punched Matt Maguire in the solar plexus 100m away from the action, but the tribunal said it occurred "in the play" ?

These were all manufactured Swans victories by less than a kick. I guess we can add another to the list.
They have been looked after by the officiators for many years. Even in last year’s prelim they needed them to get over the line after having their big lead whittled away. Today was just another classic example. Clearly though they are continuing the trend of teams that get hammered in grand finals being shizenhausen the year after. They look absolutely cooked

And yet they have the audacity to complain about the 2016 grand final, suggesting the AFL has any desire to drum up a plan to see success in the western suburbs of Melbourne as opposed to the NRL dominating state of NSW is laughable.

Here’s what happened

A COSTLY North Melbourne interchange infringement in the final minute has gifted Sydney a much-needed three-point victory in a thriller.

Swans tall Hayden McLean was awarded a free kick for the Kangaroos' error and converted from point-blank range to seal the 14.9 (93) to 14.6 (90) win at Marvel Stadium.

The penalty came when Liam Shiels and Will Phillips left the ground and were replaced by Will Powell and Hugh Greenwood.

The two interchanges took North Melbourne over the maximum 75 for the game.

Very happy with Wardlaw, hopefully everyone can move on now. All parties hopefully can look back on the JHF trade and be happy in a few years.

To put it in perspective, you were always getting Sheezel at 1 or 2. It allowed for a pick swap very much in your favour, or taking that completely out of the equation you got 3,F1, 40,43 for JHF and your F3. We paid 8+F1 for JHF and the points equivalent of about 25 for Rioli. We overpaid for rioli but the deal as a whole was great for us. WC supporters were originally cranky but were pretty happy by the end of draft night. North have been given every chance to come out ahead of the trade with GWS adding value to the pot. Unfortunately, the media have really managed to generate alot more attention than this should have generated. David King very clearly has got too close to it and too emotionally invested, but there were a ton of people egging it on from about mid last year. Kane Cornes only cares about Kane Cornes, but he didn't fire the first shot or even the 100th. They were fired from May-Nov last year. Every piece of news on JHF since he asked to leave has been littered with filth. Cornes very clearly trolling a bunch of peanuts and well he should. Meanwhile North, the team, don't seem to care, and to be honest Clarkson showed a degree of humility I didn't think he was capable of in calling JHF and telling him to move on with his life.

It further cements my belief that 95% of the media are total scumbags graduating from spreading schoolyard rumors about some girl that rejected them/is prettier than them is a ****, to bullying people 100x more successful than them publicly in the media. They push agendas all the time and even a ripping game last night is partially ruined by Matthew Richardson and BT riding Melbourne's dick all night. Suprise Suprise, a guy like Hodge, who discovered there are places outside of Melbourne and is a headstrong prick, was having none of it and contradicted them all night.

That down the ground replay showed that the actual 76th interchange took place well before the ball made its way down to the Swans forward pocket. (As in there was no interchange made during that replay footage, nor was there even a North player running on from the interchange, therefore is must have taken place much earlier)

Had the 5th umpire instantly recognised and called it at the time of the offence, the ball most likely was still up on the wing (as multiple interchanges took place at this point of time). Therefore, even with the 50, Swans would have been shooting roughly from 50-60 out.

But the ridiculous delay meant the ball got down to the swans forward pocket before the umpire clued on it it, probably checked his numbers, and then radioed it through to the controlling umpire.

There will be hell to pay if the interchange is shown to have taken place while the ball was on the wing

Only problem is they may not have maxed their interchanges. They could have made 73 and sent on three players or something similar.

Just set up a little $10 electronic scoreboard over on the wing between benches

An amber light flashes when a team gets to 70 interchanges.
The interchange steward gets off his arse, walks over to the team's bench and manually counts it down.

"71.... 72.... 73.... TWO MORE!!! 74... ONE MORE!!! 75... THAT'S IT, GUYS... WE'RE DONE!!"

See, I'm a problem solver.

Our VFL team is at the bottom of the table right now. There are not a lot of young players to play.
That happens when you have injuries. The VFL team suffers even more with local club fill-ins.

So you're saying its possible the interchange steward made an error, but not possible the Kangas interchange manager did?
how many times has it happened before? Then how many times has it happened in the forward line with 30 seconds left protecting a 2 point lead and i am saying the AFL would look beyond dumb if they had got it wrong

And if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have the interchange bullshit rule.

Disappointing way to end a fun, if not the most skilled, game. Not to take anything away from Sydney, who matched us all game, but felt we were the slightly better side, but it is what it is.

Happy to see that the kids in Wardlaw, Sheezel, Ford, Scott and Phillips all have a decent crack and take it up to a good Sydney midfield. I now know what Pies fans feel about Daicos when I watch Sheezel. Haven't enjoyed watching a North player like him since prime Daniel Wells.

Best of luck for the rest of the year Swannies.

You were going okay for a while.

It cost Hawthorn a home final and a potential premiership in 2010 when the Hawks were robbed of victory vs St Kilda after Grant Birchall put his foot 20cm over the line just as Cyril kicked what should've been the sealer.

I time-stamped this video for your viewing pleasure... Almost as farcical as today's game...
