that time of year again.

You asked. And I thought you might draw some parallels between your efforts last night and ours back then. We were on a two win season too.
A very brave loss, the Essendon way lol

2MP says hi.

Yep, he's certainly going to be a problem when we play again.

But, LDU in full flight is on the podium as the best contested mid in the game, along with Oliver and probably Cripps.

Phillips, Wardlaw and Sheezel gave the bombers a bit of a touch up around the contest after half time.

LDU is levels above those 3 at the moment and he's back after the bye.

Is that like shitboner spirit ? “Lol”
The shinboner spirit at least gets us finals wins every now and then instead of being a perennial also-ran lmao

Reckon Tom Green and Danger might have something to say about that. Not to mention Laird, Dunkley, Taranto, Libba, Petracca, Steele and Rowell.

He's building nicely, but he's not even cracking Top 10 at the moment - let alone on the podium.

Until norf get over their inferiority complex. (As if)

I'm not sure it's possible to have an inferiority complex about a club that hasn't done * all since Shrek was in cinema 🤣

The Caldwell push in the back in the dying minutes was BS. He was ducking and diving at every opportunity in the dying minutes trying to milk free kicks and the umpires actually paid it. I guess if you come out onto the field with a bandage around your head, you're bound to win sympathy free kicks.

Wardlaw in his third game had a massive influence in that last quarter. What a player we have!

Bard Scoots says essendon were "significantly younger" yesterday. This is an example why he gets so much flack from North supporters after our decade with him. It's objectively wrong for a start, what's worse is he's already spinning the situation to make himself look good instead of addressing the game on its own terms. It shouldn't even matter but he knows he has form for not developing and playing young players and he's using the media to bulwark himself against that criticism if it comes up again.

Its as if his own standing matters more than the game that was just played. Ironically if he just focused on the game itself instead of this ego s**t then he wouldn't be vulnerable to the criticism he cops because of it and wouldn't feel the need to

Three of our top four clearance winners were drafted after covid, that's three of the top five clearance winners on the ground. And it was after we lost two of our oldest mids, our most effective clearance players. essendon's best clearance player, Merrett was almost shut out of the game after quarter time and that's what allowed us back in to the game.

Scott's avoiding addressing this publicly because that's how he rolls. Its easier to lie about the game than deal with that issue. Turnovers and keepings off are important parts of the game but as the best sides in the comp are showing right now, winning clearances matters.

We were without 3/5 since early (4/7 after halftime,) of our best clearance players yesterday too which is why we weren't as dominant in that part of the game as we'd hope (its one of our few strengths recently).

Its alright to fall over the line against a side like ours, sure and its *en hurts to have lost that game, but when the season matters later on essendon will come up wanting unless they address their ability to contest and win clearances.

Before Parish went down, we were one of the best in the comp at winning clearances.

One positive from last night was that we had a really poor game, barely got out of first gear and still won and scored more than 100 points.

Scott is a used car salesman who is as much to blame for anyone as the state of North Melbourne's list. When the club needed to refresh and rebuild he did the opposite and this after moving on Harvey etc so he just went the 6 of one half a dozen of the other approach which proved disastrous.

You need to rely on more than one player tho.

Well Setterfield who’s had a good year. Shiel should not have played as wasn’t fully fit. Hopefully Tsatas gets a game soon as well. Having our top forward back next week will help as well. We wasted so many inside 50s

I can fill you in, I was there.

It was 2016 and Essendon had a cobbled together team of fill ins. North got out to 50 points lead at half time then the bombers reeled in the kangas in an amazing effort. North ran out 14 point winners, but the only talk that week was about the ‘brave’ bombers.

The Essendon crowd stayed and gave the players a standing ovation as they walked off the field. I’ve always felt it was a significant reason why we have then had the wood over you since then.
I reckon it was the final where we lost after being 5 goals up at HT with Petrie doing Frank the Tank reckon that hurt the club big time
