ROUND 14 BYES - Adelaide * Collingwood * Hawthorn * Essendon * Melbourne * West Coast Eagles

Huge test and a huge opportunity for the Cats, the first of two top four opponents in as many rounds. Or Port could go into the bye on top of the ladder, at least temporarily.

Believe Geelong is expecting Dangerfield, Duncan and Holmes to be available and Bowes played in the reserves last week, so he's also available for selection. Definitely a welcome boost in the midfield to give us some hope of matching it with a sizzling Port outfit.

Geelong are reliant on three factors:

-Dangerfield (bare minimum), Duncan and Holmes (ideally) back and firing somewhere near their best right away.
-Kicking for goal like the Bulldogs game and not the previous three
-Defenders stepping up - talls and smalls. A few have been down a bit this season, especially on defensive 50 ground balls. But we're also conceding more marks inside 50 than any time I can remember over the past 15 years. That just won't be vs Port.

Tick those three off and I think we're every chance.

Ideally Port off three consecutive 6 day breaks are a bit sluggish or tire late. They've won a few close ones at AO this year. Geelong seem to have lost almost all of the close-ish games this season. Something's gotta give!

We have to drop one eventually and Geelong have had our number outside of finals for a while now. Cats by 15

No way. Cats play s**t at Adelaide Oval.

AND if they beat port there, look out. They are back.

I think Port win this comfortably.

What makes you think Geelong is poor at Adelaide Oval? I can recall plenty of times that we've beaten both the Crows and the Power there since they moved from Football Park.

Port should be heading in to this one reasonably confident that their current game style holds up, but I am never confident when it comes to playing Geelong. They have had our measure for a long time. Hoping that changes this week. 3rd 6 day break in a row vs a team coming off the bye could be interesting.

This will be the final nail in the cats coffin.. they will be officially cooked this Thursday

You've been predicting this for a while.

This is going to be a nail biter. If Geelong did happen to win, it certainly doesn't help your mob given you have Collingwood at the MCG next week.

Geelong has played 17 games at Adelaide Oval and won 9. You must be mistaking Cats form at Adelaide Oval with Brisbane's at MCG;)

Carr has Port playing a forward half game with their dominant midfield. They move the ball with speed and efficiency through the midfield too. Paddy and co have got to get some ball in our forward half and don’t allow Port to run it out easily…Port favourites but cats could actually be up for this game….
