It'll be a good, close match but the home venue factor should make the difference as it did for both teams on the weekend. I doubt many decent Crows sides lose their first Adelaide-based match of the season.

Would love to be proven wrong, of course.

Venue makes all the difference in this match up. I'd expect Adelaide to win but it is a good test for Geelong. If we can win it, it would be huge in the context of the season. Only have to jag a couple of these type of games over the season to make the finals when you factor in the KP games and playing the bottom 4.

De Koning needs to have a solid game if we are to win. Since fracturing his face, he's lost a lot of confidence and is not as assured in the air.
The other one is Jack Henry. Both he and Sam were pretty average last week. Both need strong performances if Geelong are to win.

This is a must win for Adelaide. They should be beating us at their home ground if they are to be a legitimate finals contender.

Expect Adelaide to be far too strong at home. With the exception of the heat-stroke-induced loss to Richmond, I think the only home game they lost last year was to Collingwood by a point?

Geelong's defence is good and they have a surprisingly good record at Adelaide Oval, but the Crows midfield should run rings around the Cats.

Absolutely the type of game Adelaide have to start winning to be a serious finals side. Well, that and learning to win away.

We were helped up to 2020 by Don Pyke refusing to change tactics so they kept kicking it long and high into our D50. Since Nicks got going they have stopped doing that.
