And to add, it was a strong fair safe tackle. I loved it, always give 100% to the final siren.
It was a great tackle. An exclamation mark on a big win.

These sorts of things can occasionally happen. A phhysical contest at the siren. I remember Pendles and Selwood one year having a shive and some words after the siren.

Bit of a nothingburger really where Keays saw the opportunity to puff his chest out. Eventually.

I think thats what i found amusing , where were you for the four quarters of footy Keays

Maynard?

Tough?

Funniest comment in this thread.

Love Simmo on the radio earlier this year when Gossage tried naming Maynard as 'tough'.

Just laughed and said he was full of hot air.
What a moron. Seriously, you can hate a player while still admiring their ability or courage. Does good old Simmo think Bruzzie is soft? He was outraged by Fly's presser a few weeks back and said he was a bad loser. What kind of a coach was he? A good loser?

He's a good footballer but he ain't some tough enforcer like he wishes he was.
How do you know what he wishes he was? He plays with passion and a love for the jumper- every other club would love to have him. He clearly gets under the opposition's skin and the same applies to their supporters.

Are fan bases different?

I always thought (and I'm not alone) that Geelong fans are too quiet, and clap a lot. Then again, we were the only fanbase that didn't boo Adam Goodes, right at the peak of the saga.

Crows fans (a minority) behaved like dicks but it was their first final for a while. Holier than thou stances don't add much to the mix.
Umm no
I once saw a loud mouthed pig Cats supporter in the MCG members bully a dad and daughter into moving seats because they got sick of listening to his vile pig sh!t abuse.

He wanted Meek to get 4 games

Also, Maynard is a very good footballer
Ruins it with his fake tough guy shit, squibs up when Thilthorpe comes over

Cut the shit and his life would be so much easier, it’s not tough post game
Stop...please. Keays came at him. What do you want him to do? He has never done a dirty deed-he just goes hard. He's underrated as a player. He's a beautiful kick and has great hands when in tight or marking the pill. He's a ripper!

Fox footy panel going in to bat for JDG saying that choosing to bump and landing a shoulder to the chin is not worth a week. Even if he was attempting to smother, which he pretty clearly isn't, you're still responsible for the contact.
So desperate. If a player goes for that the competition should be disbanded. I agree with Montagna- he was actually trying to be careful in his approach.

You've all lost your minds- Collingwood are easily the worst side in the top 8 and will get hammered by the Crows

They certainly weren't quiet in last year's prelim, unless you mean during home and away games? Kardinia Park is smaller too. Would have thought a lot of Geelong supporters are country folk.

Have to give them credit Pies, Blues, Bombers, Tigers are particularly loud and vocal.

I can't believe everyone has jumped back on the Pies' bandwagon, they are bloody terrible and will get pumped at AO by ten goals.
Seriously, if they couldn't beat the Crows there with 71 inside 50s a few weeks back they never will
Had to quote this as I'll be (rightly) copping it for a while haha. For those who gave me shit at the time, fair play

SA and Adelaide had a weird vibe to me, at least years ago. Had a few weird experiences in regional SA I've not had in other states. A bit like a time warp (even moreso than Perth). I still like the city overall, a small Melbourne, but in some ways they have the same mentality as Perth.

I knew after 2023 you couldn't write off Collingwood, so I thought it was more of a 60/40 game. I did feel that if Adelaide won they would smash them, and if Collingwood did it would be close. My worry was they'd get the jump with the pressure, be more composed etc, which is exactly what happened. Were inaccurate themselves and could have easily won by 10 goals.

Read what I said

Wasn’t a criticism of him as a player, as I said

But he doesn’t need to do the fake stuff, especially standing over and berating a player he tackled

A fair chunk of Adelaide fans at that game showed at least that they're comfortable with homophobia after booing Quaynor, poor form.

Probably happens a dozen times at least during every game. You always see players berating others or shoving them, particularly after a holding the ball decision is paid. A non-event that has been given a lot more attention than needed - particularly by a player who finally decided to fly the flag for his team after the game had concluded.

De Goey is fine.
Crows player milked it alot.
Looked like a brush more then anything.
De Goey had his back to the player as well and was running off.
Kind of a half type smoother but a loose smoother at that.
Crows were milking frees all game just flip flopping.
Playing for frees.
This one will be a fine.
Clear to play.
