Good result for Brisbane, makes the Cats/Suns game a dead rubber really as neither can realistically leap to 3rd for now and as the Pies will take care of Melbourne easily, Lions would have only held top spot briefly.

It's not a good result for Brisbane

Didn’t realise there was any squabbling going on! But tonight did make me think the cats were the only real worry so you’ve got that right!
Those conditions were filthy and they only played the Swans last weekend, as much as that pains me. But still, did enough to put themselves ahead before that Lions comeback/behind fest. They don't look in synce and as fluid as Collingwood or Geeling do, but they have that dog in them, I think.

Would have thought it opens up more spots in the top 4 if you drop a game. Pies now have clear air on top. Cats lose they drop out of the top 4. Suns and Cats needed Lions to win. Guess it's irrelevant at this stage of the year.

Instant classic? More like instant coffee. Or one of those soccer games where a fluke goal and fifty fluke saves gives Crummy FC a win over Petrodollars United

None of that last quarter made sense, to the point that both sets of fans can go away with sneaking doubts.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Each side below them has a chance to make ground.
Naturally, were only half way through the season, but in terms of the top 4 as it stands, neither Geelong or Suns are likely to overcome their % defeceit this week to break into 3rd.
Pies will finish top with their run home so the best Brisbane can hope for is 2nd and they'd rather face an Adelaide at the Gabba than Cats or Suns so why not use your hand to make it a bit harder for that to change.
Control what you can.

Geez those last 5 minutes were hard to watch. In the end, it was a battle of who could sh*t the bed the least. Crows couldn't get it past the centre circle and probably deserved to lose. Meanwhile, Brisbane wasted at least 5 really good chances to win it. Bizarre finish to a game. Particularly for two top 4 teams.

I'm not trolling. Adelaide can play much better than that. They fought it out well, were clinical in front of goals the last 3 quarters and had a great patch early in the last.

Brisbane threw it away though. They crumbled both defensively and conversion-wise in the last quarter. It wasn't an honourable loss against world beaters.

Yup, however, it's probably an important win for Adelaide just to exorcise some demons. After all, this is a team has come back once in the last 25 times they were behind in the last, and had made a habit of honorable losses against the best.

Hell, you could see that in the last 5-6 minutes where we could barely win a contest outside of the D50, and were in a full-blown panic every time we tried to move the ball forward.

100% agreed. It's huge for Adelaide. Plus we never know what would happen if any of those Brisbane shots goes through for a goal, as there would be a restart in the middle. Anyway like you said it's a bit of a monkey off the back win. An honourable loss wasn't going to provide much benefit.

Interesting comments from Fages, highlights his teams 8 behinds to Adelaides accurate 5 goals.
Obviously forgot Adelaide started off with a 1st qtr of 6 behinds to Lions 2.3.
Inaccuracy could have cost either team but Adelaide capitalised in their moment which was a steamrolling.

The best and worst of the crows in the last quarter, went beast mode early and then when we got back in front , Nicks put the handbrake back on and almost cost us the game.

Similar to what happened in the showdown

That looks a clear goal to me. I might be crazy.

Brisbane did a “Melbourne” tonight and absolutely pissed that game down the drain.

Adelaide have been tremendous this year but I can’t see them beating Collingwood at the MCG on GF or prelim day and therefore aren’t contenders for mine.
Perhaps they don't have to play Pies at G in either of those to win it

What happenes to josh dunkley?? Afl gameday site listing him injured
