Being well-managed and making good decisions isn't "getting an advantage".The idea of Geelong or Collingwood winning it all just depresses me. With Sydney, Hawthorn etc, they're just always there, and get a lot of advantages.
WCE have enough clout and money to have similar advantages. But instead of making good decisions, they sign up old, injury-prone blokes on long-term deals and skip on home-grown talent so they can trade away multiple good picks for that same talent two years later (who is now barely in their best side).
Contrast Collingwood's moves post 2018 with WCE's, and you see why one is now competing up the top and one isn't.
