To not be contending when there are so many crap teams must be infuriating though. Some very average Cats teams at least make top 4 and give it a shot most seasons. The bar is low enough that you don't have to be an outstanding team to do that.

Well we can talk about home grounds and fixture inequity and other things that make the comp unbalanced, but that’s been done ad nauseum and people are too entrenched in their club-supporting positions to engage in serious discussion.

The dogs have made their own bed this year by playing poorly at the wrong time. But before this week their losses have come against decent teams at the MCG, Perth, Darwin, Norwood and GMHBA. But anytime anywhere and all that I suppose. Would be good if others had to do the same though.
