Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Man this is a frustrating game.

Its typical big ant.

Instead of the game being “hard” they just make you think your controller is broken as the oppo gets a run on, your team does its own kicks etc, players switch random etc.

I remember i bought a new ps3 controller due to afl live 1. Just because of the way they build it.

Its just a bad gaming experience.

Pray for EA.

What did they do over night on PS5 on medium in management career?

I'm playing as the Suns, and just got schelacked by the Cats.

I went from marking every contest to marking 1 out of 10 contests. Handballing still borked. Match Stats saying "1 January 2077".

Stats are also broken on main page of management career.

This game compares favourably to EA titles so I don't know what you're complaining about? Maybe get good?

As far as I’m aware there is no auto interchange yet, the sub doesn’t work and the interchange also doesn’t work if you are the away team (haven’t tested that myself but read it from someone else)

I’ll be surprised if there isn’t a few broken controllers since last nights patch lol.

This game will come good in time - it’s basically a beta game atm unfortunately

I am getting killed on easy lmao I am not a great gamer but **** me. I swear it wasn't this hard this morning when I had a quick play. Not sure I can play when its like this, might have to wait til they correct their overcorrection. Sigh.

the most annoying thing is how the computer get tackled fall to the floor then some how get a kick/handball away 10m while on the floor and then go on to kick a goal

Annoying they can throw it on the boot but user can't... and if I kick in to the man on the mark one more time I swear to god.

Game is fun enough for AFL game standards. I’m getting some entertainment even though it is campaignered in parts. Few things:

Kick outs are cooked. Either goes out on the full or a deliberate rushed behind. Can only torp it.

Maybe I’m incompetent, but handballs fire off in random directions.

If the cpu marks the ball like 5 of my players stand around doing nothing and there’s just opposition open everywhere.

Is there no way to actually just take a shot. Can’t just take a quick snap. And some players can’t even make the distance from 30m.

Then there’s the usual repeated issues.

Just to test soemthing on Medium... I played a quarter against the Saints doing my absolute best to be in the right spots for marks, have players around for handballs... and yeah... there's definitely been a huge change. St Kila bloody scored three in a row against me, breaking tackles and taking unreasonable marks.

There's no way this is player skill when you have a player run 10m into a pack and claim a mark time and time again.

Never had that kick out issue, can you save a clip?

Try holding it for longer
