They were engaged to market the product.. how are you missing that?
There is a difference between needing to maintain a relationship and not shit on the game (which they certainly have done) and funneling money into their pockets to say scripted lines and participate in stage-managed streams, as was the original implication.

just chucked my PS4 disc in and it says it's downloading version 1.02, anyone else got this? is this a patch?
That's what mine downloaded. I haven't played it yet (beyond the goal kick demo), figure will wait until later as I thought based on what we've heard it still needs another patch.

I can’t see a fix for PS users anytime soon since that seems to be a bit of a process to go through

Depending on what is actually wrong, I believe Sony allow devs to make small changes and patches without going through the full testing process.

This is pretty insulting to the content creators, some of which are on this board. There is nothing to suggest this is the case at all and many of them have been very up front with their concerns.
Content creators are some of the most disingenuous people in regard to the reviews that they make. Even if you take the money aspect out of what I said they still have every reason to not go as hard as they should with any criticism at the risk of losing future early access to games or special perks with the production company etc.

Is this their fault? No, but it absolutely is something that is rife with content creators and their relationship with gaming companies.

Mitch Robinson gave this game an 8/10, nobody impartial would give this game an 8/10 particularly when so many features are missing from launch and the game is basically unplayable.

Imagine dedicating all your resources into face scanning anything more than like the top 50% of AFL players/20% of AFLW players yet not bothering to program your AI into laying a simple tackle :thumbsupv1:

It's hard to fathom how Ross has happily taken everybody's hard earned whilst releasing such a dogshit, broken game. Disgraceful and embarrassing from go to woah.

Poor content creators who are making a killing from views, subs and general other revenue streams, sorry but thats not the people I am feeling sympathy for today, the young girl in JB/EB copping it and having to take a break because she's overwhelmed is much higher in my concerns.

It also happened with AO Tennis.

I would have thought version control, sign off precedures etc all would have been tightened up since then. Maybe they have and it's still not good enough? Who knows?

This is assuming that this is actually what happened with both games. Could just be bad luck.
Come to think of it, it definitely looks like someone merged the wrong branch to the main branch... or incorrectly merged the branch. But I would think it would be an easy fix, might need to go through approvals with Sony/Steam before it's live

There is a difference between needing to maintain a relationship and not s**t on the game (which they certainly have done) and funneling money into their pockets to say scripted lines and participate in stage-managed streams, as was the original implication.
Brought into market the game but BA have zero input in what they show and how they speak about it? OK sure...and I actually don't think they were paid, the payoffs the relationship and driving eyes to their streams.

Big Ant seem to be in Damage Control at the minute, trying to sort out a fix asap.

It's a shame this has happened and hopefully they can get it sorted as soon as possible.

Was going to pop to the shop and grab a copy but I think I'll wait a few weeks and go from there.

I'm sure that once the patch (or correct patch) is released, Ross will tell us what happened. It could be something as simple as the wrong version was launched or the wrong patch was uploaded. It could be something worse and we have AFL No Man's Sky on our hands.

I am sure more will come out soon

One thing for sure, it won’t be big ants fault. It never is

(Playing on PS5 Disk latest version)
Trying to steer clear of all the common problems etc.
a few things that I’d like to point out that will get ironed out pretty soon:

- The time clock in games displays real-time. Past games has it at 20:00. Last game which has this was Live 2. Loved the ability in evo 2 to have the count up clock

- in Season mode, no way to change lineup, match settings etc. played a night game and used a red ball

- smashing teams on hardest difficulty. Hard to handball (probably skill issue), feels like I’m turning a semi-trailer when my team changes direction. My players mark everything. Can’t tackle

I’m sure a patch is imminent. Just have patience, this game will be good. The launch is just a disaster

Had my first crack at the game. Crashed 3 times before the match even started. However I do love that they have an up to date TIO Stadium and there’s actually crowds on the grass. Taking my time to get used to the game IMG_3256.jpeg
