What you going to do about Daniel. It's ok to put up your hand and say we got it wrong .
Well run organisations do it and make change.
I look forward to the below
McDonald Logue Archer
Goater Comben Hardeman
7th defender Corr
Daniel is a liability, unfortunately.

C’mon Dinkers. We need to justify giving away pick 25 for Daniel by continually playing him. Regardless of how bad he is defensively. And that’s not mentioning his sloppy kicking at times eventhough I just mentioned it. :stern look

That's very true, but most clubs don't want to admit their mistakes. It doesn't look good. So they keep playing them.

Just hope Goater gets fit , Hardeman continues to develop, Comben keeps going and that leaves young Arch to take Daniels spot.

He can not choose to select Dawsons. But he does.
He can not choose to play Parker at half forward. But he does.

Simple things. Obvious things.
I wonder with Sheezel's comments around in game position changes, is he coaching to win or coaching to teach.

Everyone is sick and tired of the honorable losses.

My read is that it is teaching.

I seriously think that his timeline is tied to the point in time where the young talls we have are circa 50 games and Wardlaw and Sheez are leading the team.

Sheez is 20 so he'll be nearing that point at 23-24 years old, we are talking 2028.

I suspect Clarko will be extended beyond his current contract. and people will complain but by the time that rolls around is suspect we will be an alright side.

Yeah there is no chance he won't get another contract if he wants it and rightly so in my opinion. Im not worried about the past or present but the near future and its not to far away.

Let’s wait and see and give him some time to adjust to his teammates and new game plan.

I wrote off Dylan Stephens and I’ve thankfully got egg on my face!

I reckon we will see little to no huge changes to the best 22 for the remaining of the year.

I’ve noticed Clarko has spoken about more lately about continuity and playing together. Building together. Which I am slowly understanding the approach. Builds trust and develops stronger relationships with the boys.

Plus has the players understanding each others play style. It’s not about individual performances (looking at Will Phil) and as much of how good he’s been performing, the midfield has been playing huge blocks of games together now. Is it too much of a risk, looking at the big picture?

Take Tom out or let’s say Wardlaw. We see that mix as our future. Will may not know about what running patterns Wardlaw has, what space Tom needs on the outside. Wardlaw presence and just being out there may impact the boys more than we can ever see with our two eyes (which I believe is true too). Like the presence of Cooper regardless of his performances is a hindrance in comparison to the pressure Jacob does. Just Jacob being out there more and more, the midfield etc will find a way for him to gel eventually

The more they play together the better.

Without ranting too much lol this is why I believe Clarko and co have chosen their side and there won’t be many changes bar one or two replacement.

Oh and not only that but did anyone notice how vocal the boys were last week? I could hear them all checking each other (especially Parker and Grif)

It’s surely going to click soon?

List management decisions will come into it as well. They may want to look at some players before seasons end.

Don't forget we managed to bring our first round draft pick one year forward with Matt Whitlock.

That's going to accelerate things! 💡
The same people bemoan the fact we did not take talls in the last 3-4 years.

They are a slow burn and taking a tall with an extra year of development time was a smart decision, particularly if they didn’t rate the talent in the year’s draft.

Whitlock will be ready to hold down a key post when we are near the top.

You wait another year for your A Grade tall and he doesn’t hit his straps when you’re competing.

That’s why … have at it with the whinge on Daniel etc … but the move to give up this year’s first for Whitlock in isolation isn’t as ridiculous as it’s made out to be.

We would have needed to take a tall anyway, it would have been near impossible to split the pick with all the Academy hoo ha and they possibly rated him better than any tall in this draft and can get an extra year of development into him.

You don’t have to agree but at least be neutral about that decision.

People don't bemoan the fact we took Whitlock. People bemoan the fact that the years of neglect in this area, coupled with the Daniel trade, meant that we overpaid.

Well, I don't think a perennial bottom four side should trade out their first round pick unless a meteor hits the combine and there is nobody to draft. Then we have Cosmo Kramer who is doing the bargaining for us, which means I am dubious about any trade deal.

That being said, some of the deals he has done are reasonable. It is the clubs that know he is going to fold and hold out are the ones that... well, make the right call and hold out.

Fate might shine on us and the deal might turn out well for us, but on balance, we shouldn't be doing those kinds of deals, other clubs were much quicker to move around the first round, we didn't do a deal during the trade marathon and you pay a premium on draft night. We can't afford to trade like GC because we don't have the conveyor belt of talent that is their academy giving them multiple top 10 draft talent every year which they can just match bids for.
