It's now been confirmed on the AFL website.Would collingwood match the offer?
Unable to match as he's unrestricted.
Thanks for clarifying. The way it was worded in the tweet appeared to keep that option available if they were unhappy with pick 57. All good. Fas is worth a shot. We lack talented natural goal kickers. Could be boom, bust or an OK player but worth a goIt's now been confirmed on the AFL website.
They can't match it anyway, I think the noob at HQ didn't realise the difference between unrestricted and restricted free agency. Unrestricted should only be lodging paperwork with the league after the player has signed it, and since there's no opportunity to match for a UFA, lodging it should just be to make it official.
The tweet should be worded as a "Fasolo has joined Carlton" not "Fasolo has been made an offer".
I'll believe it when I see it.. .I'm praying for 100 points in a gameGood signing for the Blues assuming McKay continues his improvement a quartet of Curnow, McKay/Casboult, McGovern and Fasolo should have no trouble scoring.
not sure how many points it is but it all helps, I think beyond pick 70 is when draft picks dont have pointsWe actually got something for Fasolo?
Pick 57 isn't bad, what's that in terms of points?
Also alleviates like 300k of salary cap which is great.
I don't think he considers tackling or pressure as part of the game.Good player, if he starts tackling should be best 22
Why would we want to anyway?
He could become a 40 goal small forward if EVERYTHING goes his way, although he is no chance of accomplishing that at the pies, probably our 7th/8th choice non-KPP forward
1. De Goey
2. Hoskin Elliot
3. Elliot
4. Stephensen
5. Thomas
6. Mayne
7. Daicos/Brown
Oh no I agree, win for both parties for sure. I was just talking about how Fasolo is far more likely to succeed at Carlton than at Collingwood. At Collingwood he is behind 30-40 goal forwards De Goey, WHE, Stephenson, Elliott and Thomas.
At Carlton he just has to be an improvement on (2018 games and averages)
Wright has retired so we literally have the worst small forwards in the comp (but he was shit anyway). Ainsworth, Sexton, Young, Ah Chee, Macpherson rotations at GC are the smalls of envy for us!
- Pickett - 7 games, 8 disposals, 0.25 goals, 3 tackles
- Garlett - 11 games, 11 disposals, 0.5 goals, 3 tackles
- Polson - 12 games, 8 disposals, 0.25 goals, 3 tackles
- Wright - 21 games, 13 disposals, 1 goal, 2 tackles
So Fasolo for 300-350k-ish is definitely worth it for all parties - we get an average player for average salary that is an improvement on our current list, Fasolo gets a best 22 gig, Pies get a pick for a fairly unneeded player.
Yes when you have stars like aish lol
Fas is a good get to replace wrights role
Just a question for people in regards to the expected compo pick that the Pies are expecting for Alex Fosolo
From whats been reported he is off to Carlton on a 3 year deal worth $1 million and some pies supporters are expecting a 3rd round compo pick
Matt White for Richmond also went at the same price to Port Adelaide 3 years for $1 million and Richmond didnt get a compo pick whilst most expected a 3rd rounder at the time and we were disappointed but it was what it was.
The Salary cap has since gone up nearly 25% in the last 4 years just wondering if the Pies supporters may be as disappointed as we were
