Oooft. Damn. That was a lot. I remained in tact right up until the last 15 seconds. Great match, great tribute. The video before the match gave me goosebumps as well. I watched that video and thought "I wish they'd done a 'DemGirlz' fundraiser for his daughters, I might've been more comfortable wearing that" - but with everyone wearing that shirt at the end I think it's going to be synonymous, I think it'll be like that Bullet Club shirt that every wrestling fan seemed to own.

I'm glad they gave Mark that little bit at the end speaking to the camera, I could imagine TBS being a bit nervous about that.

Probably the only thing I would've changed about the whole thing? I doubt they're thinking about ROH or the titles yet. But given their history, given the tragedy of Jay's death through no fault of his own, you can't ask his family to send the belt back.

So the one thing I would've changed would've been a really nice surprise announcement at the start of the match - "Together with his brother Jay Briscoe, he is one half of the FOREVER RING OF HONOR TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS Mark Briscoe."

Come up with something else. Make your trios titles mean something. Even call your new tag titles the Jay Briscoe Memorial tag team titles. But I think you have to retire the "Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships" because the Briscoes were those titles for 20 years.

Fair points… but think of the heat! Got a top heel team if they play the “only one of you left to defend the titles” card, plus a huge babyface moment for whoever steps in to team with Mark. I don’t know the ROH roster enough to predict who fills either of these roles, but it’s something.

Man, that was beautifully done by AEW. No idea how Mark Briscoe got through that. Insane. Under the circumstances was a good match too.

Hope they don't put it into storylines though, was tacky when WWE did it with Eddie.

Seeing as Jay Lethal hasn't been used all that well since coming over. Hope they team him up with Mark.

If FTR stay in AEW, imagine the pop if Mark and FTR teamed up to beat Elite for the Trios?

I would've loved Sakura to win so they could run it back again in the next couple of weeks. It was as good a 10 minute-B Show match as you're ever likely to see IMO.

Noticed Powerhouse Hobbs squashed "Tony Mudd" (Who is one of the top guys on OVW as Tony Gunn, been on Impact a few times).

Wonder if they changed his name because of The Gunn Club.

I loved those Hobbs vignettes - the bringing a book to the ring gimmick is way too literal, though.

Just leave him as someone who rose up from nothing by being absolutely ruthless, and a complete beast.

And change his ring gear.

There is a lot of talent in the roster.

I agree he could be doing other things, but having someone like him as ROH champ isn't a bad outcome for Claudio and ROH.

Scrap ROH and it’s titles, try and monetise the video library, and put all your efforts into growing the AEW & Dynamite/Rampage brand.

There is money being left on the table if that happened. ROH has had record buys and attendances under Tony Khan (If we don't include ROH produced super shows like ROH/NJPW at MSG and ALL IN). I believe that there is a fanbase there that will keep it going on Honor Club with a 1 hour weekly show soon (+ the library being there).

I could care less about ROH to be honest, its is hard enough now keeping up with Raw, Dynamite and Smackdown.

I thought or maybe wishfully thought he would have had a far greater role on Dynamite and far less time on Dark or Rampage. He has had some good matches in the time but he came in so hot that pop for him on arrival was awesome and it just hasn't really been fully taken advantage of.
