All State Selection?

With all the fuss in recent time about people wanting to hold a state of origin series yet from what the AFL seems to indicate, it won't be happening anytime soon...Maybe every year the best footy brains in your respective state can come up with an honorary team that would represent your state, in a similar vein to the All Australian side.

Any thoughts on whether that would bring back some of the state pride that AFL may have lost as a sport in the past 20 years or will it just add to a number of awards out there essentially picked by the media.

I think that is a good idea. Of course making the NSW/ACT team at the end of the year would not be as big an honour as making the Victorian team it would still be a good thing.

VIC/SA/WA/Generic name like All Stars or some shit.

Tassie doesn't even have 22 players in the AFL (as far as I'm aware).

It would be the best players from the state, so it can include state league players in the case of ACT, TAS, NT ect ( small states/territory ).
