So you could of Said Stan should of been Charged with Assault?

Let's just say I wasn't very proud of what Stan did on that day and leave it at that Dave? He meant to hurt Jezza (who was a pure ball player) and he achieved his goal.

Loved Ken Bennett's story, joined from Dandenong as a 17 year old in 57, a small and very young looking kid he was mercilessly bagged from the stands for being too slow.

Think Blairy, Bennet was a 70kg, 166cm, midget, wet weather specialist who -as an 18 year old in his second season- had a picnic on a decidedly patchy and muddy 'G' on a wet Septmember Saturday.

Kicked a couple and got himself in the best players on the big day, he is unmistakable in the pics of the team and the game, as he looks like a stocky little 12 year of with a blond buzz cut.

Played 50 odd games over 6 seasons, 58 was his best season and the Grand Final outdoubtedly his favourite game. Here is some great info on him; present, past and on the 58 GF itself.

Oh thanks for bringing Kenny Bennett back up. He was so tiny out on the field that all us kids loved standing next to him after training or games. He kicked those two goals in '58 and he was running beneath blokes legs and he was tackling like a jockey riding a horse.
Great memories. Still the most amazing day I'll ever know as a Pies supporter.

I'm not meaning to have a go at anyone here, but I do find it amusing reading this thread just to see what different posters consider "vintage" to mean!! No doubt because I'm a "mature-age type" I tend to think it should be pre-1960, or perhaps pre-1970 at a stretch!
