According to Wikipeeja we have 39 on the main list and 3 on the rookie list. If we upgrade Watson we don't have to use any picks, just cut one more player.

We’ve got to take three ND selections or rookie upgrades and I don’t see us upgrading any rookies other than Watson.

I’m not even sure if you can take just one pick and upgrade two rookies, the rules are ambiguous on that point and no one’s ever done it.

Bolton and Sokol would be perfect late picks. I am surprised that Bolton has not managed an afl game after killing the Wafl season after season.

Only if they’ve upgraded rookies. We did it in 2011 when we took Newman and McInnes and upgraded Hams.

I can’t recall any team taking just one draft pick.

We'll do nothing because we don't have a Hogan/Lobb target. There are also no obvious players wanting out that are of value.

IMO there is no way Freo trade Neale under contract just to get picks.

But in the end it turns out it wasn't the value we were hoping for and we had to spend perhaps a bit more than we liked to get him.

Still, better to have him here than not. Like I keep saying, if we lost him because we were hung up about a pick in the 30s I would encourage everyone to riot. We are not the only club in the land that had to bend over to get a key cog in the side for a premiership tilt.

No one’s up for leaving. We’ve got fresh blood in Kelly. Last year we brought Allen, Waterman, Petruccelle and Cameron into the side that won the 2018 premiership, and we’ve got 19 of the premiership 22 still on the list.

I think we’re in pretty reasonable shape.

It didn't sound like Gaff was going anywhere during our B&F. In his speech he thanked Nathan Van Berlo (midfield coach), and said he was looking forward to working with him for many years to come. Not the be all and end all but I doubt he'd make a comment like that unprompted if he thought he'd be leaving soon.

Never ruled out Freo completely according to his manager.

Perth rival Fremantle had "not really" been an option for Kelly, Van Der Wielen said, because it wasn't deemed the best option for him and his family.

Similar words were said by Mitch Clark about going to Melbourne when he was looking to go to Freo from Brisbane.

You cannot seriously think Freo would not have at least enquired if there was one hour to go and Kelly still was on the table.

Purpletown, so in effect Kelly is just Rioli+ a bit and now they probably have to lose another player to get some kids. They're wearing thin it seems. They are hitting critical mass like we did and had to play too many kids and then they've got the old boys retiring coming up. Oowah.
